The diet composition of juvenile Korean piscivorous chub, Opsariichthys uncirostris amurensis were studied using 277 specimens collected from January to December 2004 in the surf zone of Nakdong river estuary. The size of Opsariichthys uncirostris amurensis ranged from 2.6 to 9.1 cm in standard length (SL). Opsariichthys uncirostris amurensis was carnivore that consumes mainly amphipods and insects. Its diet also included small quantities of polychaetes, fishes, and algae and plants. Opsariichthys uncirostris amurensis showed ontogenetic diet change. Smaller individuals (< 4 cm SL) mainly consumed amphipods. The portion of these prey items decreased with increasing fish size, and this decrease was paralleled with increased consumption of larger preys such as polychaetes and fishes. Insects were preyed moderated values in all size classes. Opsariichthys uncirostris amurensis diet also showed diel change with consuming more on amphipods and polychaetes during day.

필리핀 일로일로 주변해역에 출현하는 몽치다래(Auxis rochei)의 위내용물 조성을 연구하기 위하여 2013년 12월에서 2014년 5월까지 매월 채집하였으며 채집된 몽치다래의 총 개체수는 200개체였다. 이들의 가랑이체장(FL)은 11.1~31.2 cm의 범위를 보였다. 위내용물을 분석한 결과 몽치다래는 어류(fishes)를 가장 선호하는 epipelagic feeder로 나타났다. 어류 다음으로 중요한 먹이생물은 새우류(shirmps), 요각류(copepods), 게유생 (crab larvae), 단각류 (amphipods), 두족류 (cephalopods)로 나타났으며, 갯가재류 (stomatopods), 이매패류(bivalves), 패충류(ostracods) 등도 섭식하였지만 그 양은 많지 않았다. 몽치다래의 섭식패턴에 대한 도해적방법의 결과는 몽치다래가 좁은 섭식폭을 가지며, 어류를 주로 섭식하는 specialized feeder임을 보였다. 모든 크기군에서 어류를 주로 섭식하였으며, 크기가 증가함에 따라 어류의 섭식비율이 증가하는 경향을 보였다. The diet composition of bullet mackerel, Auxis rochei was studied using 200 specimens collected from December 2013 to May 2014 in the coastal waters of Iloilo, Philippines. The size of A. rochei ranged from 11.1 to 31.2 cm in fork length (FL). A. rochei was epipelagic feeder that consumed mainly fishes. In addition, A. rochei consumed shrimps, copepods, crab larvae, amphipods and cephalopods. The diet also included small quantities of stomatopods, bivalves, and ostracods. Also, analysis of the prey-specific abundance against the frequency of occurrence shows that A. rochei have a narrow food niche, and are specialized feeder with fish as their dominant prey. Although fishes were the primary in food consumed by all size class. The fishes gradually increased with body size.

거문도 연안해역에서 채집된 달고기(Zeus faber) 462개체 의 식성을 조사하였다. 달고기의 표준체장(SL)은 7.8~40.2 cm 범위였다. 달고기의 위내용물을 분석한 결과 달고기는 갈치 (Trichiurus lepturus), 고등어 (Scomber japonicus), 노랑 벤자리(Callanthias japonicus), 전갱이(Trachurus japonicus) 와 같은 어류(Pisces)를 주로 섭식하는 어식성어류였으며, 어류 중에서 갈치를 가장 선호하였다. 어류 다음으로 두족 류 (Cephalopoda), 새우류 (Macrura), 난바다곤쟁이류 (Euphausiacea) 를 섭식하였지만 그 양은 많지 않았다. 체장 15 cm 이하의 개체에서는 어류와 두족류를 주로 섭식하였다. 두족류의 비율은 체장 증가에 따라 감소한 반면, 어류의 비율은 증가하였다. 어류는 체장 15 cm 이상의 개체에서는 위내용물 중 대부분을 차지하였다. Species composition and abundance of larval fishes in the coastal waters off Gori in the southeastern Korea were investigated from January to December in 2006. During the study period, 32 larvae species belonging to 20 families were collected. The dominant species were Engraulis japonicius, Hexagrammos agrammus, Sillago japonicus, Acropoma japonicum, Apogon lineatus, and Konosirus punctatus. These six species accounted for 87.0% of the total number of individuals collected. The number of species, number of individuals, and species diversity indices fluctuated by season. The peak numbers of species and individuals occurred in July and May, respectively. Correlation analysis showed that monthly variations in water temperature and salinity could act as an indicators of seasonal variations in the larval fish community structure and abundance of the dominant species; in particular, the abundance of S. japonicus, A. japonicum, and A. lineatus were significantly corrected with the water temperature.

The feeding habits of scorpion fish, Sebastiscus marmoratus, were studied using 324 specimens collected in the coastal waters of Tongyeong, from January to December, 2009. The size of the specimens ranged from 9.8 to 30.1 cm in standard length (SL). S. marmoratusis was a piscivore that consumed mainly teleosts such as Engraulis japonicus, Clupea pallasi and gobid fishes. Of the fish species Engraulis japonicus was the most preferred prey. Its diet also includes shrimps and crabs. Hermit crabs, polychaetes, bivalves and euphausia were minor preys. Smaller individuals (<13 cm SL) fed mainly on shrimps, crabs and fishes. The proportion of shrimps and crabs decreased as body size increased, whereas the consumption of fishes gradually increased. Fishes accounted for almost stomach contents of larger individuals (more than 19 cm SL). Seasonal changes in the S. marmoratusis diet were significant. Fishes was most common prey during summer, autumn and winter, whereas crabs and shrimps were mainly consumed during spring.

The feeding habits of Coilia nasus were studied using 107 specimens collected from January to December 2005 in the coastal waters off Gori, Korea. The size of C. nasus ranged from 8.4 to 29.5 cm in standard length (SL). C. nasus was a carnivore that mainly consumed shrimps and copepods. Its diet also included small quantities of amphipods, euphausiids and chaetognaths. The feeding strategy graphical method reveled than C. nasus was specialized feeder and showed narrow niche width. Both small and large size class of C. nasus mainly consumed shrimps and copepods, and did not showed significant size-related changes in feeding habits. However, the mean number and weight of preys per stomach was higher than large size class than small size class.
