In this paper, an interface unit is designed to efficiently monitor transmission data in Controller An-a Network(CAN)-based control systems. The CAN uses a serial multi-master communication protocol that efficiently supports distributed real-time control with a very high level of data integrity, and communication speeds of up to lMbps. The interface unit is composed of a DSP controller which collects data on the CAN bus and transfers data to a personal computer via serial communication to save and display of interesting signals. The experimental system consists of three DSP controllers which represent electronic control units of a vehicle, an interface unit for analysing the data on the bus and a graphic monitoring program coded on the Windows platform. The validity and the effectiveness of the proposed simple type of CAN interface unit are shown through the experimental results.

In this paper, we present a model-driven approach to RTOS(Real Time Operating System)-based embedded software development and an automated tool that can produce RTOS-specific code. we defined generic RTOS APIs(Application Programming Interface) that are not bound to any specific RTOS but can provide most of typical RTOS services. The generic RTOS APIs can be used as a means for describing application's RTOS-related behavior from design stage. Out tool, called Trans-PI, is able to produce specific 'C' code aimed at POSIX(Portable Operating System Interface for UNIX)-compliant RTOSs. And it is also configurable to target other RTOSs that do not conform to the POSIX standard.

This paper presents a monitoring tool using an interface unit on the CAN(Controller Area Network) bus for the network-based control system in which a number of ECUs are connected. When many unprecedented nodes try to access the network for a specific time interval, the networked system may be operated unstably. A simple methodology for varying sampling period, which is determined by holistic scheduling method, is proposed and utilized to resolve transmission delay of lower priority data caused by higher priority data in a CAN-based network system. In order to show the validity of suggested method, it is applied to a simple type of a simulator for a fuel cell hybrid electric vehicle which consists of several DSP chips in which subsystems of a vehicle and the power control algorithm are coded.
