This paper investigates the factors which may cause the carbon deposit at ISCA. The effect of each factor is verified through uHC concentration measurement at ISCA inlet and outlet using FRFID. As a result of test, blow-by gas emitted from the crank case passes by the ISCA during the fast acceleration and WOT mode. Finally the improved method to reduce or eliminate the root cause is proposed.
