This paper presents the static analysis on the stress of a heavy- duty truck frame which is made up of side member anti cross member. The analysis is performed by finite element method. In order to be similar to real frame, modeled members are designed with shell elements. The static contact between the members and the rivets is considered at the joint, and the solution is compared with the simplified model without the rivet joints. The finite element code ABAQUS 6-2 is used for this analysis.

In many papers, when characteristics of shock absorber are studied, work diagrams or characteristics curves are used as a experimental standard. From these researches, Modeling methods of shock absorber were studied. But, in cases of gas and oil shock absorbers which are installed in a compact car or leasure car, various excitation conditions and temperature are 110t considered. However, these terms are very important factors which damping force is reduced. So that, newly studies are needed about that. This paper studies up on a damping force characteristics of shock absorber in a different excitation and we know that a damping force of gas and oil shock absorber is affected by these conditions.

This paper studies on the stress analysis over large-size automobile frame joints. The frame consists of some cross members and two side members. In this case, joints of the frame have a large effect on the automobile motions. So, to study on the contact between the members and the rivets is very important. In order to obtain the more similar real model, the used model in this paper was designed with shell elements and modeled by considering the spring effects. As a result of this study, we can obtain the relations between the cross member anjxthickness and maximum principal stress, also obtain the correlation between the rivets and the maximum principal.

This paper presents dynamic analysis of high-speed drivern valve in an automotive engine. The velve and velve spring are modeled by finite element techniques. The mass of the spring and the dynamic contact between the coils are considered. Also the dynamic contacts between the velve and the velve seat are computed by the finite element techniques without assuming the artificial springs. And the finite element code ABAQUS is used for this analysis.

This paper presents numerical analysis of dynamic contact and stress developing in the high-speed driven valve of an internal combustion engine. The valve is modeled by finite element techniques, and the dynamic contact between the valve and the valve seat is analyzed by the solution strategies of differential algebraic equations. It is shown that the contact and separation between the valve and the valve seat can be computed by the finite element techniques without assuming the artificial springs. Also ABAQUS program is used for comparison
