Wide use of non-linear loads such as power conversion device have led to harmonics generation according to the development of industry. In this paper, a technique for predicting the harmonics generation at the evaluation points before new EHV customer’s grid connection. And a method for estimating the harmonics voltage level on a bus that is assumed to be a new customer’s grid connection. First, the harmonic generation library is created through the harmonic measurement, and the application of the library to the load of the new customer can be used to estimate the harmonic generation amount of the new customer before the electricity supply. Also It is also possible to estimate the harmonic voltage level of the system using the estimated harmonic generation amount and impedance information of the customers connected to the system including the new customer. The validity of the proposed method is verified by simulation.

Wide use of non-linear loads such as power conversion device have led to harmonics generation according to the development of industry. In this paper, a technique for predicting the harmonics generation is proposed without measuring the harmonics generated in customer. First of all the harmonic generation library by the non-linear loads was produced through the harmonic measurement. The harmonic generation in customer by identifying the load conditions of the case study customer could be estimated without harmonic measurement using the harmonic generation library. Field measurement and simulation results by using the proposed technique for the case studies show the reasonable effects and verification.

When in the damage caused by harmonics occurs in the customer, it is common to solve the problem of harmonics limited to the customer. However, harmonic issues involve interactions between power companies and consumers who share the power or network. Recently, the harmonic damage complaint was filed to the power company and relevant authorities by the customer that dose not generate harmonics. In this paper, the harmonic current direction theory to solve the problem was verified through experiments and an analysis method considering the harmonic currents flow between near by customers through the case was studied.

When an emergency generator is running, it supplies the power for critical loads. Generator protection requires the consideration of many abnormal conditions that may occur with generators include overvoltages and ground faults. Modern day power systems create harmonics within the electrical network that can have an impact upon the associated protective system. This paper focuses on the analysing of the cause and development of a solution for the malfunction of induction disc type overcurrent ground relay by generation of harmonics during emergency generator operation.
