Contact wire is one of the most important components supplying electricity to railroad cars. At the beginning of the research on contact wire, wear problem caused by friction between contact wire and pantograph was considered even more important issue for the failure of contact wire. However, since several fatigue fractures were reported from Shinkansen in Japan, fatigue fracture has become another important issue for the failure of contact wire. Despite of its importance, standard of the fatigue test of contact wire has not been established yet. Thus, fatigue characteristics of contact wire is very difficult issue to evaluate quantitatively. Hence, in this study, test method simulating operating conditions of contact wire by Minsung Kang and etc. is used to evaluate the fatigue characteristics of copper alloy contact wire. Also, test results is compared with the result of Minsung Kang’s research on pure copper contact wire.

Effects of insulation thickness on flame spread over electrical copper wires with applied AC electric fields were experimentally investigated. The AC volrage and frequency varied in ranges of 0-5 kV and 10-1000 Hz, respectively. A one electrode configuration was used such that the electric potential was applied to one wire end and thus the infinite ambience could be a ground. The results showed that the flame shape and the tilting direction were significantly influnced by applied voltage and frequency. The flame spread rate decreased in an increase of insulation thickness as well as varied sensitively with applied voltage and frequency. Additionally, the molten polyethylene (PE) experienced various dynamic behaviors such as dripping of molten PE, electrospray, di-electro-phoresis, and rotation of molten PE, essentially affecting the flame spread rate. These complicated phenomena were systematically analyzed and discussed.
임베디드 NPU 환경에서 실시간 보행자 검출을 위한 네트워크 경량화 기법

딥러닝 기술의 발전으로 ADAS와 같은 기술들의 정확도가 향상되고 있지만, 고사양/고성능으로 인하여 차량용 엣지 프로세싱 환경에서 동작시키기에는 어려움이 있다. NPU와 같이 저사양 환경에서 정확도가 높으면서 실시간으로 동작하는 인지 기법들이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 임베디드 NPU 환경에 최적화된 객체검출 네트워크를 제안한다. 경량화 backbone과 INT8 연산에 최적화된 layer로 구성된 네트워크를 제안하고, 공용 데이터셋과 자체 구축한 데이터셋에서 학습 및 평가를 진행하였다. 일반적인 학습 환경에서는 Float32 연산을 사용하고, NPU 환경에서는 INT8 연산을 사용하기 때문에 양자화 과정이 필요하다. 학습 및 테스트 결과 기존 경량화 기법 대비 복잡도는 3배 이상 감소시키면서, 검출 정확도는 향상시켰다. INT8 양자화 오차를 최소화하였으며 Float32 환경과 INT8 환경에서 검출 결과는 거의 유사하였다.

Composing an experiment or a credible simulation model to search for a new optimized design may be costly in terms of both money and time as the design has not been realized yet. To alleviate this problem, we propose using Designable generative adversarial network (DGAN) to quickly suggest a new effective design. DGAN is derived from the Generative adversarial network (GAN) with the addition of an inverted generative network structure. DGAN not only augments input data but also yields the corresponding design variable data for the augmented data. Assuming a product of an analogous domain was designed in advance, its performance data is utilized with DGAN in order to adapt to a new design domain and to bring out a design that attains similar performance. The effectiveness of the proposed methodology is investigated with problems designed to incorporate equations and simulation models.
