유저 인지구조 기반의 유저 인터페이스를 적용한 가전제품의 통합형 컨트롤패널 디자인 제안

본 연구는, 실제의 조작계통이 인간이 기억하고 있는 조작계통에 가까울수록 좋을 것이라는 가정 하에서, 인간의 기억 속에서 이미지 되는 조작계통과 실제의 조작계통과의 차이점을 규명하여, 어떠한 점에 유의하면서 조작계통을 설계해야 할 것인가를 분명히 하고자 했다. 먼저, 세탁기와 전자레인지, 전기밥솥을 대상으로 이들 제품들을 평소 자주 사용하는 가정주부 60명에게 그들의 기억만으로 3종류의 기기들에 대한 조작계통을 기술하도록 하였고, 그 후 실제 제품을 보면서 같은 실험을 계속했다. 그 결과, 세탁기에서는 기억과 실제에서 많은 차이를 나타냈지만, 전자레인지와 전기밥솥에서는 거의 유사한 반응을 나타냈다. 사람은 일반적으로는 35개의 조작을 기억하고 있으며, 그리고, 조작의 순서(방법)는 항상 전원 → 설정 → 시작 또는 동작이라는 3개의 프로세스로 인식하고 있는 것을 밝혀냈다 다음으로, 실험결과를 데이터화하여 정답률과 착각율을 분석한 결과, 정답률이 높다거나 사용자의 착각이 적은 것을 가지고 표준적인 조작버튼(조작계통)의 구축이 가능하다는 이론적 배경을 성립할 수 있었다. 이와 같은 실험결과를 토대로 각 제품의 컨트롤패널 디자인을 제안했다. 조작버튼의 순서는 왼쪽에서 시작해 오른쪽으로 배열해 나가는 것이 이상적인 배치라고 판단되며, 이러한 레이아웃은 세탁기나 전자레인지에만 국한된 것이 아닌, 모든 가전제품의 조작계통에 공통으로 적용된다고 유추할 수 있다. This study tried to reveal the difference between the image-based operation system and the real operation system. The study was carried out under the hypothesis that image-based operation system by human memory should be closer to the real operation system. Sixty housewives described the operation system of washing machine, microwave oven, and electric rice cooker by their own memory. Afterwards they reported the operation system by catching sight of the real product. The result showed much difference between memory and real situation, but similarity was found in microwave oven and electric rice cooker. Generally human could retain 35 operation system memory and the order was composed of three processes in power supply→set-up→start. The percentage of correct answer and misunderstanding turned out that higher answer rate and lower incorrect answer made the theory possible to establish the standard operation system. Based on this result, we suggested control panel design of each product. The ideal fingertip control button should start from left to right side. The left to right layout can be applied not only to washing machine and microwave oven but also to all kinds of home appliances.
