Objectives: Pharmacopuncture is a new form of acupuncture treatment that injects herbal medicine into acupuncture points. This paper introduces the management status of pharmacopuncture through accreditation, and examines the effect of accreditation on pharmacopuncture management. Methods: The Accreditation System of External Herbal Dispensaries (EHDs) of traditional Korean medicine clinics announced by the Ministry of Health and Welfare in September 2018 were investigated. Results: The Accreditation System of EHDs assesses and certifies herbal medicine and pharmacopuncture preparations. Regular components for the 'pharmacopuncture' certification consist of nine standards, 30 categories, and 165 items. The nine standards include: herbal dispensary facilities, clean room management, management and organization operation, employee management, document management, continuous quality control, herbal medicine management, management of preparation, and pavement management. Conclusion: Through EHD accreditation and certification system, traditional Korean medicine clinics and EHDs can now manage pharmacopuncture medicine quality and promise safe pharmacopuncture treatment for the people.
Resveratrol Induces Glioma Cell Apoptosis through Activation of Tristetraprolin

Tristetraprolin (TTP) is an AU-rich elements (AREs)-binding protein, which regulates the decay of ARE-scontaining mRNAs such as proto-oncogenes, anti-apoptotic genes and immune regulatory genes. Despite the low expression of TTP in various human cancers, the mechanism involving suppressed expression of TTP is not fully understood. Here, we demonstrate that Resveratrol (3,5,4'-trihydroxystilbene, Res), a naturally occurring compound, induces glioma cell apoptosis through activation of tristetraprolin (TTP). Res increased TTP expression in U87MG human glioma cells. Res-induced TTP destabilized the urokinase plasminogen activator and urokinase plasminogen activator receptor mRNAs by binding to the ARE regions containing the 3' untranslated regions of their mRNAs. Furthermore, TTP induced by Res suppressed cell growth and induced apoptosis in the human glioma cells. Because of its regulation of TTP expression, these findings suggest that the bioactive dietary compound Res can be used as a novel anti-cancer agent for the treatment of human malignant gliomas.

이 연구는 지방정부 재난관리조직의 효율적 운영을 위해서 어떤 요인에 대한 정비가 필요한지를 도출하기 위하여, 지방정부 재난관리조직의 효율적 운영을 위한 요인 간 상대적 중요도 분석을 실시 하였다. 재난관리 관련 학계 전문가들은 재난관리 관련 법령간의 연계성 부족을 극복하고, 중앙정부 와 지방정부의 명확한 역할 구분이 이루어져야 한다고 생각하고 있다는 것을 알 수 있다. 이와 달리 재난관리 관련 실무 전문가들은 중앙정부의 재난관리 예산 지원 확대와 지방자치단체장의 관심 증 대와 재난관리 예산 증대가 중요하다고 인식하고 있다. 학계 전문가와 실무 전문가들이 중요시 여기 는 것 간에는 상당부분 유사성이 존재하고 있다는 것을 알 수 있다. 다만 어느 것이 최우선적으로 중요한지에 대해서 학계 전문가들은 법제도적 요인을 가장 중요시하는 반면, 실무 전문가들은 재난 관리 예산 요인을 중요시한다는 점에서 차이가 나타났다. This study analyzes the relative importance among the determinants of efficient operation in disaster management department in local government in order to identify which determinants need improvements. It is found that scholarly communities in disaster management emphasize that the lack of connectivity among the disaster- related laws should be overcome and that role classification between central and local governments should be clarified. On the other hand, practitioners in the field of disaster management perceive that center government should expand budgetary support in disaster management and that local government leaders should enlarge their interests in disaster management and budget. Despite great similarities in important determinants between academic scholars and practitioners, it is worthwhile noting that academic scholars regarded legal and institutional factors most important while practitioners found budgetary factors most important.

CNC(cellulose nanocrystal) is a renewable and biodegradable reinforcing filler that gives impressive mechanical properties to filled polymer composites. However, further studies are required for its application because of its low dispersibility in nonpolar polymer matrix, which is one major drawback for the application of CNC as a high value-added additive, and its strong tendency for self-agglomeration by internal hydrogen bonding. To overcome these shortcomings, the surface of CNC was modified with silane coupling agent(aminoethyl-aminopropyl-trimethoxysilane, AEAPTMS) and some characterizations were examined. AEAPTMS is a kind of silane coupling agent and is known as an additive that effectively improves the functionality and compatibility with the polymer matrix. By just silylating the CNC surface with silane aquatic solutions, the CNC surface can be modified in a more direct, convenient and environmentally-friendly manner without using any hazardous solvents. The surface modified CNCs were analyzed using various characterization instruments (field emission scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive X-ray analysis, thermogravimetric analysis, etc.) in comparison with MFC(microfibrillated cellulose) and pristine CNC materials. This study is expected to improve the applicability and value-added of CNC as a reinforcing filler for various polymer composites.

Backgrounds/Aims: The comparative effectiveness of pylorus-resecting pancreaticoduodenectomy (PRPD) and pylorus-preserving pancreaticoduodenectomy (PPPD) in pancreatic head cancer is still disputed. The aim of this study was to analyze the data obtained from a large, single center with PPPD compared with PRPD in terms of postoperative outcomes, including blood glucose levels and survival in patients with pancreatic head cancer. Methods: Between January 2007 and December 2016, a total of 556 patients with pancreatic head cancer underwent either PPPD or PRPD. We analyzed the clinicopathologic data to assess short- and long-term outcomes retrospectively. Results: For underlying disease, patients with DM in PPPD were fewer than in PRPD (33.0% vs. 46.2%, p=0.002). The median value of CA19-9 was significantly higher in PRPD than in PPPD (129.36 vs. 86.47, p=0.037). The incidence of Clavien-Dindo grade III to V major complications in PPPD was significantly higher than in PRPD (20.4% vs. 13.4%, p=0.032). Resection of pylorus was shown to reduce complications in univariate and multivariate analyses (p=0.032 and = 0.021, respectively). The 5-year survival rates were 27.6% in the PPPD group and 22.4% in the PRPD group (p=0.015). Conclusions: The results of PPPD and PRPD showed no significant differences from those reported conventionally in previous studies. Although further well-designed studies are needed, it is more important to select the range of surgical resection for the patient’s disease regardless of resection of pylorus.
