The purpose of this study is to empirically verify the effect relationship between the risk-inducing factors of the construction site, the construction safety management system, organizational trust and turn-over intention of the construction workers. For this, this study conducted a survey of 500 construction site workers in Daejeon and Chungcheong-do provinces and conducted statistical analysis using the SPSS 26.0 program and the AMOS 26.0 program.
The main results of this study are summarized as follows.
First, the effect of risk-inducing factors on the organizational trust of workers at construction sites was analyzed. The analysis showed that among the risk-inducing factors at construction sites, organizational culture factors and institutional factors have a significant negative effect on organizational trust.
Second, the effect of the company's construction safety management system on the organizational trust of workers was analyzed. According to the analysis results, among the factors of the company's construction safety management system, the capacity of management supervisor, in-company safety management and construction accident evaluation have a significant positive effect on organizational trust.
Third, the effect of organizational trust of workers on turn-over intention was analyzed. The analysis showed that workers' trust in the organization had a significant negative effect on their turn-over intention.
Fourth, the effect of risk-inducing factors on the turn-over intention of workers at construction site was analyzed. According to the analysis, among the risk-inducing factors at construction site, organizational and cultural factors and institutional factors have a significant positive effect on the turn-over intention.
Fifth, the effect of the company's construction safety management system on the turn-over intention of workers was analyzed. The analysis results showed that among the factors of the company's construction safety management system, the capacity of the management supervisor and the education of construction safety directly have a significant negative effect on the turn-over intention.
Sixth, the mediating effect of organizational trust was analyzed in the effect of risk-inducing factors on the turn-over intention.
According to the analysis results, the mediating effect was significant in the effect of organizational culture factors and institutional factors on the turn-over intention.
Seventh, the mediating effect of organizational trust in the effect of the construction safety management system on the turn-over intention was analyzed. The analysis showed that the mediating effect was significant in terms of the capacity of the management supervisor, in-company safety management, and the effect of the assessment of construction accident on
the turn-over intention.
In conclusion, it can be inferred that if construction workers take seriously the risk-inducing factors at their construction site, they will lose trust in the organization and ultimately consider changing jobs, some of which will eventually lead to turn-over. Conversely, this study confirmed that if construction site workers feel that the company's construction safety management system is well-organized, the workers will have a positive effect on increasing trust in the organization and ultimately lowering the turn-over.
As a result, the study establishes a hypothesis and conducts an empirical analysis from earlier studies suggesting that organizational culture influences decision making and business performance, with a view to elucidating the effects that organization culture exerts on the outcomes of the remodeling projects. Especially, the study ensures the connectivity among the studies by using for the factors for the decision-making phase, the factors as employed in the priority study (DMP-P), and identifying the detailed measurement queries as those that are verified as high in the priority analysis results. As for the influences that business characteristics exert on the financial project results through the decision-making process, the study confirms that the characteristics of relation-oriented, innovation-oriented, and rationally-oriented except the hierarchically-oriented influence the outcomes of the financial results of projects. Thus, the study confirms that as for the effects that business characteristics exert on the non-financial results of projects through the decision-making process, the relation-oriented, innovation-oriented, and rationally-oriented characteristics except the hierarchically-oriented influence the non-financial results of projects as mediated by the decision-making phase.
