퍼스널 컬러 시스템을 활용한 주얼리 색채교육 프로젝트 프로그램 개발 연구 : 고등학교 미술교육 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

무수한 시각적 이미지가 범람하는 정보화시대에서 사람들에게 색채와 시각 이미지가 미치는 영향은 간과할 수 없다. 시각적 이미지를 이루는 조형요소 중 대표적인 색채는 사람들에게 시각적 정보를 제공할 뿐만 아니라 그들의 생각과 느낌을 나타낼 수 있는 힘을 지니며 감정 또한 지배할 수 있다. 자신에게 가장 어울리는 색채가 무엇인지에 대한 관심과 색채를 적재적소에 조화롭게 활용하는 능력은 자신뿐만 아니라 타인에게 좋은 이미지를 심어줄 수 있는 큰 힘을 지닌다고 할 수 있다.
본 연구는 외모와 자신에 대한 관심이 증가하기 시작하는 청소년기의 학생들을 대상으로 자신의 인체 색과 가장 잘 어울리는 퍼스널 컬러(Personal Color)와 이미지를 찾고, 조화로운 배색을 통해 자신의 고유한 매력을 아름답게 돋보일 수 있도록 돕기 위한 색채교육 프로그램이다. 학생들에게 다양한 재료와 색채의 조화로 제작된, 아름다운 광채를 지닌 조형물인 주얼리(Jewelry)를 활용하여 색채교육과 디자인교육이 통합적으로 이루어지도록 프로그램을 구성하였다.
이에 따라 우선 퍼스널 컬러 시스템(Personal Color System)을 활용한 주얼리 색채교육의 연구 목적 및 내용을 밝히며, 전체 프로젝트의 내용과 진행단계를 서술하였다. 더불어 본 연구가 수업 현장에서 실물로 활용하기 어려운 주얼리를 수업자료로 활용한 색채교육이라는 것에 대한 제한점을 언급하여, 전체 프로젝트에서의 파워포인트(PowerPoint)를 시각 자료로 활용한 것에 대한 정당성을 확보하고자 하였다.
제 2장에서는 퍼스널 컬러를 이해하기 위하여 개념 및 유형에 대해 선행 연구 및 문헌 조사를 토대로 기술하였다. 그리고 미술교육과정과 학교현장 및 학생의 측면에서 바라본 주얼리 색채교육 프로그램의 필요성을 언급하고 색채와 주얼리의 색채 선호 현황을 조사하여 본 프로그램 개발의 배경을 마련하였다.
퍼스널 컬러 시스템에 대한 이해를 바탕으로 제 3장에서는 연구 대상과 연구 방법을 제시하고, 색채 계열별·사계절 유형별 주얼리 색채 분류를 하였다. 그리고 학습 목표, 내용 체계, 교수·학습 방법과 모형을 서술하여 프로그램의 개발 근거를 마련하였다. 주얼리를 활용한 색채교육 프로젝트는 크게 ‘진단’과 ‘색채 이미지 분석’ 그리고 ‘적용’의 3단계로 구성하였다. 퍼스널 컬러 시스템, 색채 분류, 배색을 통해서 색채에 대한 이해도를 상승시킬 수 있도록 4차시의 학습 프로그램으로 세분화하여 구성하였다. 퍼스널 컬러 진단을 통해 학습자에게 어울리는 색채와 이미지를 알고, 조화로운 배색을 통해 자신만의 이미지를 구현할 수 있도록 하였으며, 이론에서 감상, 팔찌를 제작하는 표현활동으로 이어지는 프로그램은 학습자들이 퍼스널 컬러에 적응함과 동시에 색채교육으로서의 효과를 발휘하게 되었다.
색채교육 프로젝트의 교육적 효과는 4장에서 분석하였는데, 색채교육 프로그램을 통한 색채 이미지 구축은 학습자 본인의 자아정체성을 이해하는 결과를 얻을 수 있으며, 그들의 미적 감각을 상승시키고 자신감을 가지게 해준다. 미술과 디자인, 공예의 공통분모로서의 색채교육은 학습자가 각 분야에 대해 관심을 가질 수 있는 계기가 될 뿐만 아니라, 진로와 취업에 대한 정보를 제공해준다.
이어, 프로젝트의 활성화를 위한 방안을 제언하였다. 이는 한국인에게 적합한 퍼스널 컬러 시스템의 개발과 주얼리 색채에 대한 체계적 이론의 바탕이 마련되어 미술교육과정으로의 도입이 이루어져야 한다는 것이다. 또 주얼리 색채교육이 주얼리 코디네이션으로도 확장되고, 전문기관의 지원과 연계 지도를 통해 활성화되어야 한다. 마지막으로 색채와 주얼리 분야의 표기법 불일치현상을 통일시켜야 하며 색채에 대한 표준이 보편화되어야 한다는 것이다.
색채를 이해한다는 것은 말처럼 쉽게 하루아침에 이루어지는 것은 아니다. 색채에 대한 꾸준한 관심과 지속적인 노력을 통해 자신만의 구심점을 마련해야할 것이다. 학습자의 적극적인 동기 유발을 위한 프로그램의 업데이트가 이루어진다면 자신을 이해하고 표현하는 데 영향을 미치는 퍼스널 컬러 활용에 대한 색채 지도는 학습자의 정체성을 생성하고 자아를 외부 세계로 확장함에 있어 큰 일조를 하리라 본다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In the present information-oriented age that is overflowing with countless visual images, it is impossible to overlook the effect of colors and visual images on people. Color, which is the representative of all the crude elements in visual images, not only gives people visual information, but, as it also has the power to express people's thoughts and feelings, also can control their emotions. It is possible to say that having interest in which color most suits oneself and the ability to harmoniously put together colors has the great power to plant a good image not only to oneself but also to others.
This study is a color education program that helps the subjects, who are teenage students who are starting to have an increasing interest in themselves and their appearances, find the image and Personal Color that best suits their body's color, and make their unique charm look beautiful through a harmonious arrangement of colors. The program was organized so that design and crafts education could be possible syntagmatically by allowing students to use various materials and jewelry which have a beautiful light.
As such, first we revealed the goal of the study of jewelry color education, which used the Personal Color System, and expressed the entire project's context and steps of procedure. Furthermore, this study mentions its limitation of giving color education by using jewelry, which is hard to use in actual classes, and tried to justify the use of PowerPoint as a visual reference throughout the entire project.
In order to understand the Personal Color System, Chapter 2 states the concept and type of Personal Color based on advanced studies and literature survey. Also, we mention the need for jewelry color education program from the perspective of students, scene of a school, and art curriculum, preparing a foundation, which was made by conducting surveys on what color and the color of jewelry people favor, on which this program can be developed.
On the basis of an understanding of the Personal Color System, the subject and the procedure of the study were explained on Chapter 3, and colored jewelry were sorted according to color tones and seasonal colors. Also, we prepared a foundation for the program to be developed by describing the aims of the lesson, system of content, teaching-learning method, and the model. The color education projection that uses jewelry mainly consists of three steps, which are 'diagnosis', 'analysis of the color image', and 'application'. In order to increase the understanding of colors through the Personal Color System, color classification, and arrangement of colors, the program was departmentalized so that the education program would proceed over four sessions. Throughout the process, the students could know the color and image that suits themselves through Personal Color diagnosis and create a unique image through arrangement of colors, and the program which incorporates theory, appreciation, and expression activities making bracelets the learners has the effect of color education and helps their adaptation to Personal Color at the same time.
The educational effects of the color education project was analyzed in Chapter 4, and through creating a color image with the color education program, the student can understand their self-identity, while also allowing their aesthetic tastes and self-confidence to increase. As a common denominator of art, design, and crafts, color education not only allows the learner to become interested in each field, but can also offer information on occupations and employment.
Furthermore, we also offered suggestions for the vitalization of the project. Using the development of the Personal Color System that is suited for Koreans and systematic theories about jewelry colors as a foundation, it needs to be implemented into the art curriculum. Also, jewelry color education must be extended to Jewelry Coordination and vitalized to the support and connected guidance of specialized institutions. Lastly, the mismatch phenomenon of notations in the color and jewelry fields must be unified, and the norm for colors must become generalized.
Understanding of colors is not something so easy all of a sudden. Only through persistent interest in color and continuous efforts can create a pivot. Along with updates of programs to continuously motivate students, Color education using Personal Color, which has an effect on understanding and expressing of themselves, will help the learners create an identity and extend their egos to the outside world.
