서북출신 엘리트의 해방 후 남한 관료 진출 = From Traitor to Patriot：Northwest Elites from Colonial Korea to South Korea

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This essay attempts to see how the experience of the colonial period bureaucrats of the northwestern elites affected after liberation. In previous researches, Christiannationalism－ anticommunism was focused on the general characteristics of northwestern elites. These included political leaders of the Democratic Party of the North, based in the Northwest region, and high-ranking officials under US military government who had studied in the United States. However, as a result of examining the recollection of northwestern bureaucrats, especially colonial police officers, it is necessary to consider the experiences of northwestern elites who collaborated with Japan in Manchuria and Joseon. Based on the experience of administrative and anti-communist experience as colonial police officers, they selectively reproduced their experiences in the Cold War context of liberation. Their colonial administration experience was utilized as skill and asset of ‘anti-communist state’ including Jeju 4.3 of liberation state. Finally, in addition to defining the general characteristic of northwest elites as Christian－nationalist－anticommunism based on regional characteristics, and also as pro-US, it is necessary to consider the cases of histories of pro-Japanese elites.
