역사기록의 전자문서 편찬방법 탐구 - 역사요소를 중심으로 -

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 논문은 전통적으로 인문학자들이 수행하는 대상 자료의 분석·해석 작업을 디지털상에서 수행하는 방법론 중 역사요소를 중심으로 역사기록의 전자문서를 편찬하는 방법을 탐구했다. 디지털 시대에는 디지털 백과사전과 디지털 아카이브가 유기적으로 융합된 디지털 통합정보 아카이브(Digital Encyves)의 개념이 필요하다. 현재 디지털 아카이브는 한국역사정보 통합시스템으로 일부 구현되어 있다. 그러나 디지털 백과사전에 해당하는 역사요소에 대한 통합시스템은 전무한 형편이다. 기관은 개별 문중 요소의 식별값, 세부 정보 및 개별 문중 요소 간의 관계에 대한 연구와 관리를 위한 한국 역사요소 통합시스템을 구축하여야 한다. 또한 연구자들이 손쉽게 개별 요소의 정보를 입력하고 연계할 수 있는 지원 시스템을 구축하여야 한다. 개인 연구자는 대상 역사 자료에서 기본 요소(인물, 공간, 사건, 문헌, 시간)에 대해서 한국 역사요소 통합시스템에서 규정된 식별자를 부여해야 한다. 또한 개인 연구자의 요구에 의해서 형성된 용어의 경우 “용어”로 마크업하고, 속성 정보에 “편집자”와 “분류”를 기술하도록 한다. 이를 통하여 단일 객체에 대한 다양한 편찬자들의 이해와 해석을 손실 없이 완전한 데이터로 남길 수 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper aims to suggest a compilation method of electronic documents for historical records, with the focus laid on historical elements in the records, which is one of the digital methodologies for analyzing and interpreting source materials in humanities research areas. In the digital era, the concept of “digital encyves” – a convergence of digital encyclopedia and digital archives – and its development has a significant meaning. In Korea, the Korean History Online partly covers the role of digital archives in terms of the historical elements from Korean historical records. However, a comprehensive system for the historical elements has never been established with the concept of a digital encyclopedia at all. In order to prepare a solid foundation for the development of digital encyves, a comprehensive, integrated system for Korean historical elements needs to be established at an institute level, and the ID attributes and detailed information of individual in-text elements and the relations between these elements should be studied and managed in this system. Also, the system has to be open to individual researchers so that they can add information to each element and build proper relations. Individual researchers are required to use the ID attributes determined in this system, regarding the historical elements such as historical figures, places, events, documents, and time. If a new historical element is to be added to the system by an individual researcher, the new element is required to be marked up as a “term,” and the information on its category and the writer should be included in the term’s attributes. Through this method, a diversity of understandings and interpretations from various researchers can be collected as complete data, without any loss.
