The National Technical Qualification System was established in 1973 with the enactment of the National Technical Qualifications Act. Currently, over 1.5 million individuals take exams annually, utilizing certifications across various fields. Given the recent emphasis on employment and job changes in the hiring market, it is necessary to understand how certifications are practically utilized in corporate settings.
This study aims to analyze the preferential treatment and content of preferential treatment for certifications from the perspective of examinees, using survey data from candidates registering for the 2022 national technical qualification exams on Q-Net (www.q-net.or.kr). Independent variables include 'qualification grade,' 'company size,' and 'applicant age,' while dependent variables are 'preference status at workplace' and 'content of workplace preference.' The analysis is based on responses from 1,345,548 individuals who answered the question about 'preference status at workplace' from the 2022 examinee basic statistics data. For the 'content of workplace preference,' responses from 827,023 individuals who answered 'preferred' in the 'preference status at workplace' question were used.
The analysis involved conducting a significance test using the chi-square test, followed by logistic regression analysis, random forest model, SVM model, and LightGBM model. The goal was to identify the model with the highest accuracy and F1 score and determine the most significant variables affecting the preferential treatment and content of preferential treatment for certifications.
