The purpose of this study was to research the effects that young children's temperament and parents' rearing attitudes reflected to their young children's social development. In order to achieve the purpose, we established tasks of our studies as follow,
1-1. Is there any relationship between young children's temperament and their social development?
1-2. Is there any relationship between parents' rearing attitudes and their young children's social development?
1-3. Is there any relationship between parents' rearing attitudes, their young children's temperament and social development?
2-1. Is there any deference between full three and five aged young children's temperament and their social development?
2-2. Is there any deference between parents' rearing attitudes who have full three and five aged young children and their young children's social development?
2-3. Is there any deference between parents' rearing attitudes who have full three and five aged young children, young children's temperament and young children's social development?
The subjects of this study was conducted with mothers who have full three and five aged young children who attended in 5 kindergartens located in Suwon city.
The results of this study summarized as follow,
First, young children's temperament have relationship with their social development. It showed statistically similar relationship in whole positiveness and sociality regarding to correlation between subordinate factors of social development and conversion that is subordinate factors of infant's temperament.
It indicated negative correlation in relationship between each variable and then it means that whole positiveness and sociality will be lower according to increasing of conversion levels.
Second, parent's rearing attitudes have relationship with young children's social development. It showed statistically similar relationship in whole expressivity, plasticity of social and sociality regarding to correlation of democratic-self control and social development that is subordinate factors of rearing attitudes, and also indicated statistically similar relationship in all subordinate factors of affection-accepted and sociality among correlations of them.
Third. There are close relationship between parent's rearing, young children's temperament and social development. The important variables that can be explained intimacy among subordinate factors of young children's social development were indicated adaptation in temperament, affection-accepted in infant-rearing attitudes, adaptation in positiveness, and also indicated adaptation, democracy/self-control and affection-accepted in expressivity. It also Indicated affection-accepted and pattern in activity, and adaptation, affection-accepted in whole social adaptation and sociality.
Fourth. There are difference between full three and five aged young children's temperament and their social development. Regarding to correlation between subordinate factors of social development and adaptation that is subordinate factors of three aged young children's temperament, it indicated statistically all similar relationship in whole sociality, social adaptation, activity, expressivity, positiveness and intimacy. And it also indicated statistically similar relationship in whole conversion at activity and sociality, in patterns at intimacy, in activity levels at positiveness and sociality. In researching to full five aged young children, it was indicated similar relationship with positiveness in correlation to conversion that is subordinate factor of temperament and subordinate factor of social development. The relationship with positiveness was showed negative correlation, and then it meant positiveness will be lower according to increasing conversion levels.
Fifth. there are some different between parents' rearing attitudes who have full three and aged young children and their social development. Regarding to correlations between subordinate factors of Parents' rearing attitudes who have a three aged young children and their young children's sociality development, it showed similar relationship of expressivity to them in democracy/self-control, and intimacy, positiveness, expressivity, activity and sociality except social adaptation in affection-accepted. Regarding to correlations between subordinate factors of Parents' rearing attitudes who have a five aged young children and their young children's sociality development, it showed similar relationship of whole intimacy, social adaptation and sociality to them in democracy/self-control, and intimacy, social adaptation, expressivity, activity and sociality except positiveness in affection-accepted.
Sixth, there are some different between parents' rearing attitudes who have full three and five aged young children, their young children's temperament and social development.
The important variables that can be explained intimacy in sociality development among full three aged young children were indicated affection-accepted and adaptation, and adaption among full five aged young children The important variables that can be explained positiveness among full three and five aged infants were indicated affection-accepted, and not indicated in parents' rearing attitudes. Regarding to expressivity, full three aged young children indicated affection-accepted and adaptation. In full five aged young children, they indicated adaptation and self-control. Regarding to activity, all of three and five aged young children indicated affection-accepted. In social adaptation, full three aged young children showed democracy/self- control and adaptation, full five aged infants showed adaptation. In whole sociality, full three aged young children showed affection-accepted and adaptation, full five aged infants for adaptation.
