Chae-Bong Jung is one of the most noticed person in juvenile literature by presentation works based on intense style and strong humanism. In this study, to identify his literature substance of pure spirit as a writer, the subjective character was examined the realized condition by relating with the writer's spirit, then by adding the formal feature showed on his literature I understood and evaluated the value of his fairy tales.
Chae-Bong Jung expresses the theme through clear spirit of a writer and compact composition from fantastic and allegoristic story to realistic story for juvenile. He sublimates his past heartache into love and encouragement with optimistic thinking through self-realization. That is his literature.
On the basis of his works, there are Buddhistic mercy and Christian humanism such as love, sacrifice, service etc. The love being the ground of his fairy tale is showed as nature love, human love and truth seeking love for various social problems, and inspires the essence into the literature.
The spiritual world of subject realization understands the 'small existences' of being difficult and neglected as objectives having ultimate truth of life by <the concern and love of small existences>, <practice of love through self-sacrifice>, <nature love and humanism>, and <Understanding of the realities of life>, then endows values to their overcoming of realities. He makes much of human dignity, the value of existence by forming mental value rather than materials and leads to human salvation. Also the reconsidering thinking about civilization and recurrence to the nature are related naturally to recovery of human nature based on sacrifice and love by the writer's compassion towards nature and life.
As for the formal feature, he tells a story by selecting things that can leave true impressions regardless of time and space through the aside of the white cloud, story teller in the series fairy tale River flowing into the pupil. It's natural composition and unfolds the story calmly with direct telling by causing gradual curiosity and inquisitiveness, as giving calm impression not stimulating dramatic disposition.
As for the feature in style, he raises resilience and implication and makes the mood suggestive and beautiful by using various metaphors, and enlarges the mood and sympathy by using <various description>, <quotation of rhyme, nursery rhyme, poem etc.>, <suggestive and fantastic metaphors>, <variously expressed symbolic adverb>, <simple style>on the basis of clean writing style and dramatic composition compacted with moderated description and conversation.
As for the emotional expression as well, it is visual, auditory, simple and beautiful, so it makes the mood of story more fantastic. These features of writing style raise the specific aesthetics of Chae-Bong Jung fairy tales being harmonized together and not showing effects separately. Therefore, he could be said that he attributed a lot to establish a frame of juvenile literature with writer's spirit to realize warm human nature to children by this beautiful technique of poetic fantasy.
He expresses his subjective senses with density through clear spirit of writer and accurate composition. He expresses pure and innocent world of the heart of children by sublimating his own mind. He is said that he concentrated his efforts to find out pure mind existing in human's inner nature through fairy tales, recognized the heart of children as the pure root of the world, and dreamt of reconstruction to pure life and recovery of human heartstrings in modern society.
