Beginning in the 1970s when the industrial development started making rapid progress in this country, the surface of ground became saturated with all sorts of facilities. To cope with this problem, the plans to install the facilities underground were promoted from the late 1970s centering on Seoul area, and currently there are many underground utility tunnels all across the countries, including 7 Utility-Pipe Conduit in Seoul area.
However, the faulty ventilation problems are beginning to emerge due to the lack of concrete standard for ventilation facility in accordance with the shape of Utility-Pipe Conduit, so the concrete ventilation counterplan is required in consideration of the health of the workers at job sites and the aspects of maintenance management, according to the shape of each Utility-Pipe Conduit.
In this study, the flow was analyzed taking the Utility-Pipe Conduits with the forced ventilation system as a model and changing the locations of the coercive inducing fans at the energy section and the communication, and the optimal installing locations were analyzed by analyzing the flow characteristics of the common section according to the change of installing location of each inducing fan.
In this study, the air flow in the Utility-Pipe Conduits was analyzed at the multiple aspects to provide the basic data for the more efficient ventilation facility design as the optimal ventilation condition was analyzed by installing the inducing fans at the place where the ventilation efficiency is poor, according to each shape of Utility-Pipe Conduits, so that the concrete ventilation system and improvement may be presented at the initial installment of the Utility-Pipe Conduit.
