대학교의 조직․환경적 특성이
대학생의 음주행동과 음주문제에 미치는 영향

연구목적: 대학생의 음주행동과 음주문제는 개인적 요인뿐만 아니라 대학교의 조직․환경적 특성에 의해 동시에 영향을 받는다는 것을 다수준 분석을 통해 입증하고 그에 따른 정책적 함의를 도출하는 것이 궁극적인 목적이다.

연구방법 및 대상: 이차자료 분석에 근거한 본 연구의 원 자료는 “전국 대학생 음주실태"이며 이중, 63개 대학교의 학생처 직원과 해당 대학교에 재학 중인 대학생 3,665명으로부터 자기기입식으로 설문조사한 자료를 분석대상으로 하였다. Mplus 5.20을 활용한 다수준 회귀분석(Multi-level Analysis)을 하였다.

연구결과: 대학생의 음주행동과 음주문제는 대학생의 개인적 수준에서의 변수와 동시에 대학교의 조직․환경적 수준에서의 변수에 의해서도 영향을 받고 있었다. 월간 음주량과 빈도를 고려한 지표와 폭음빈도에 의해 측정된 음주행동과 문제음주수준, 음주관련문제 경험 및 간접음주문제 경험에 의해 측정된 음주문제 모두에 공통적으로 영향을 끼치는 변수들은 주거형태, 용돈, 음주거절효능감, 음주량에 대한 주관적 규범과 같은 개인적 수준의 변수와 학교에서 시행한 교육 홍보활동과 같은 조직․환경적 변수들이었다.

결론: 대학생의 음주행동과 음주문제는 대학생의 개인적 요인과 대학교의 조직․환경적 특성에 의해 영향을 받는다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 이것이 가지는 정책적 함의를 논의하였다.

ABSTRACT
The Effect of Organizational and Environmental Characteristics of
University on Student's Drinking Behavior and Alcohol Related Problems

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to examine that drinking behavior and alcohol related problems among university students were accounted for not only by student individual characteristics but also organizational and environmental characteristics of the university.

Methods: As a secondary data analysis this study employed a raw data, 'National Survey on Drinking Behavior among College Students' which is a nationwide representative sample. Data under analyses included 3,665 students from 63 universities. Multilevel regression analyses by using Mplus 5.20 were employed for nested data.

Results: This study confirmed that student's drinking behavior and problems associated with use of alcohol were accounted for by not only individual personal characteristics but also organizational and environmental characteristics of the university. Multilevel regression models identified characteristics, including for individual level living without parental control, amount of discretionary money, self-efficacy of drinking refusal, norms of drinking amounts, and for organizational and environmental level the number of a school education and preventive campaign on campus.
Conclusion: Multilevel regression analyses confirmed that drinking behaviors and problems derived from use of alcohol among college students were associated with both individual characteristics and organizational environment of the university.
