오름 지질 체험 학습을 통한 초등학생의 환경에 대한 인식 변화 = Effects of the Oreum Geological Experience Learning on the Perceptional Change for Environment of Elementary School Students

국문 초록 (Abstract)

제주도의 화산활동으로 생성된 소화산체(오름)는 산간 지역이나 해안 지역 할 것 없이 어디에서나 볼 수 있고, 관광자원으로 각광을 받고 있으며 많은 사람들이 오르내리고 있다. 우리 주위에서 쉽게 찾고 오를 수 있는 오름이 많지만 오름이 가지고 있는 교육적 가치 즉, 오름을 통하여 오름의 형성, 지질 구조 등을 학생들이 학습할 수 있는 체험 학습장 및 프로그램 개발이 부족한 편이다.
이에 본 연구는 초등학생들의 오름의 중요성과 가치를 정확히 인식하고 오름 체험을 통해 과학교과의 지질 분야를 좀 더 쉽게 이해하고 흥미와 호기심을 가질 수 있도록 오름 체험 학습 프로그램을 개발하였다. 개발된 프로그램은 제주특별자치도 제주시의 O초등학교 6학년을 대상으로 적용하였다.
적용 결과, 개발된 프로그램을 가지고 체험학습을 적용한 실험반은 이론 수업을 한 비교반에 비하여 오름에 대한 지식 영역과 정의적 영역에서 유의미하게 향상되었음을 알 수 있다. 또한 체험학습이 이루어진 실험반에만 적용한 정성적 영역에서도 오름에 대하여 전반적으로 흥미와 관심이 높아졌다.
따라서 계속적으로 과학과 교육과정에 부합하는 지역 특이적 체험 학습 프로그램을 개발하고 지금까지 개발된 여러 체험학습 프로그램들을 수합하여 웹기반 학습 자료로 재구성할 필요가 있다고 사료된다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The small volcanic structure (Oreum) generated by a volcanic activity can see in over and there containing a mountain and seaside areas of Jeju-Do. It is important as sightseeing natural resources. And many people go up and gets off the Oreum. Although we can look for it and go up easily around us, the development of fields and programs for experience learning which can learn formation and geological structure of the Oreum is still lack. Therefore, the experience learning program on Oreum was developed in this study.
In order to examine the effects of the developed program, we investigated changes of perception on Oreum by applying the program to 6 graders of O elementary school in Jeju-do. It was found that the experimental group applied with the developed program was enhanced significantly in knowledge and affective areas in relation to Oreum compared to the control group to which theoretical classes were conducted. Moreover, students were also elevated in qualitative area of interest and curiosity on Oreum .
Thus, it is necessary to develop the experience learning programs continuously in relation to region-specific learning materials containing the Oreum. It should also be utilized as web-based learning materials with the various experience learning programs developed so far.
