디자인사를 다루는 전시콘텐츠 방향에 관한 연구 : -바우하우스 전시를 중심으로- = A study on the Direction of Exhibition Contents Dealing with Design history -Focused on Bauhaus-

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 디자인전시와 관련한 지속적인 논의를 생성하고 바우하우스 전시를 대상으로 디자인사를 다루는 전시콘텐츠의 다양한 방향을 모색하여 디자인사 전시 기획자들이 전시기획 단계에 참조할 수 있는 기초연구 자료의 목적을 지니고 있다.
디자인산업의 규모와 경제적 가치가 꾸준히 상승하고 교육기관에서 양성되는 디자이너 인력이 증가하는 현시점에서‘디자인사’는 디자인 학문의 정체성 확립 및 디자인 담론의 지속적인 순환과 확장, 디자인에 대한 이해를 돕는 주요한 대상으로 볼 수 있다. 디자인사 연구의 측면에서는 ‘전시’라는 매개를 통해 디자인 분야의 아카이빙과 후속연구의 가능성이 제기되고 있다. 더불어 대중을 대상으로 한 공공의 영역에서는 동시대의 이슈를 함께 다룰 수 있는 디자인사의 주제와 해석을 통한 디자인 담론확장을 기대할 수 있다. 그러나 현재 국내에서는 디자인사, 디자인사 관련의 주제를 디자인 학문의 맥락에서 다루어 온 전시의 유형과 규모가 다양하지 않고 이러한 유형의 전시들이 대중적으로 크게 주목받거나 활성화되지는 못했다. 이에 디자인사를 다루는 전시와 전시콘텐츠 관련 연구의 필요를 발견하였다.
문헌 조사와 선행연구 검토를 통해 디자인전시의 개념과 범위를 파악하고 본 연구 내에서 언급되는 디자인사 전시의 개념과 범위를 설정하였다. 국내에서 개최된 디자인사 전시 사례 분석을 통해 국내의 디자인사 전시현황과 특징을 파악하고 강화와 보완이 필요한 지점들을 인식하였다. 다음으로 디자인사 전시대상의 범위를 축소한 바우하우스 설립 100주년 기념 관련 국내외 전시 사례 분석, 전문가 인터뷰를 진행하여 전시콘텐츠 기획 강화와 보완에 적용 가능한 해석 맥락의 유형과 키워드를 도출하였다.
도출된 내용들을 종합하여 전시콘텐츠 기획에 참고 가능한 세 가지의 전시콘텐츠 방향과 적용예시를 제안하였다. 세 가지 전시콘텐츠의 방향은 디자인사 해석의 맥락을 바탕으로 한 '일상의 미시적 대상을 중심으로 한 전시콘텐츠 : 나누어 보기', '아카이브·리뷰의 성격을 보여주는 전시콘텐츠 : 겹쳐보기', '한국디자인사의 맥락을 함께 보여주는 전시콘텐츠 : 덧붙여보기' 이다.
결론적으로 국내 디자인사 전시 해석의 맥락이 변화함에 따라. 디자인 역사 전시콘텐츠의 방향 모색에서는 디자인 역사 전시 주제의 시의성, 동시대의 다양한 전시 해석 매체, 관람객 상호작용 활성화 요소의 중요성이 더욱 높아지고 있다는 것이다. 제안한 세 가지의 디자인 역사 전시콘텐츠 방향은 이러한 요소들을 고려하였다.
본 연구는 디자인 담론, 디자인사 전시연구에서 기존 디자인사 전시사례들을 분석하여 현황과 전시의 특징을 파악하여 이를 보완하고 강화할 수 있는 디자인사 전시콘텐츠의 다양한 방향을 모색하고 바우하우스를 중심으로 한 구체적인 적용예시를 함께 제안한다는 데 의의가 있다. 디자인사 전시 관련의 후속연구에서, 디자인사 전시대상과 맥락이 확장된 다양한 유형의 디자인사 전시기획의 기초연구 자료로 활용되기를 기대한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to produce　continuous discussion on design exhibitions　and to propose basic research materials base on various directions of exhibition contents dealing with design history for the Bauhaus exhibition so that design exhibition planners can refer to during the display planning stage.
At a time when the scale and economic value of the design industry continues to rise and the number of designers professional trained by educational institutions is increasing, Design history can be seen as a major object in establishing the identity of the design, the continuous cycle and expansion of design discourse, and helping to understand design. In the study of design history, the possibility of archiving and follow-up research in the field of design through is proposed through the medium of exhibitions. In addition, in the public sphere, it can be expected to expand design discourse through the subject and interpretation of design history that deals with contemporary issues for the public. However, in the context of design history studies in Korea, the types and scales of exhibitions involved are not diverse, and these types of exhibitions are not active or have not received much attention from the public. Therefore, the exhibitions and contents of design displays related to design history need to be studied.
Through literature research and former studies review, the concept and scope of design exhibitions, as well as the concept and scope of design history exhibitions　in this paper are defined. Through the analysis of design history exhibition cases held in domestic, the current status and characteristics of design history exhibitions were realized, and find the points that need to be strengthened and improved. In addition, The scope of the design history exhibition　is narrowed, selected domestic and foreign Bauhaus　exhibitions in the past 100 years for case studies, and then　through the analysis of expert interviews, and proposed the type of explanation　and key words applicable to strengthen and improve the exhibition content planning.
The results of the study suggest three directions of exhibition contents and application cases that can be referenced in exhibition content planning. Based on the context of interpretation of design history, the three directions of exhibition contents are ‘exhibition contents focusing on the microscopic objects of everyday life : split view’, ‘exhibition contents showing the characteristics of archives·reviews : overlapping view’, and ‘exhibition content that shows the context of Korea design history : additional view’. Each of the proposed directions can be referenced and applied in consideration of the purpose and scale of the exhibition planning.
In conclusion, as the interpretation context of the domestic design history exhibition changes, the importance of the timeliness of design history exhibition topics, various contemporary exhibition interpretation media, and factors to revitalize visitor interaction are increasing. These factors were considered for the three proposed design history exhibition content directions.
The significance of the research is to　analyze existing exhibition cases of design history in the study of design discussions and design history displays, realize　the current status and characteristics of the displays, and explore various directions of design history displays that can be improved and enhanced, while proposing specific application examples centered on the Bauhaus. It is expected that in the follow-up studies, through the use of the research results and basic research data, the exhibition subjects and context of design history can　be expanded and a richer type of design history exhibition project can be realized.
