The purpose of this study is to prevent the outflow of the youth population and propose policies to promote youth entrepreneurship in Daegu Metropolitan City.
This study looked at the definition of youth entrepreneurship, youth entrepreneurship support policy, status of youth entrepreneurship support projects, domestic and foreign countries and cities, and confirmed the current status of Daegu Metropolitan City's startup ecosystem through comparative analysis with other local governments and satisfaction analysis of startup companies.
After conducting a SWOT analysis using data collected through previous research, the five major strategies for promoting comprehensive youth entrepreneurship are as follows.
First, it is to strengthen the role of universities in supporting startups. The goal is to expand and operate entrepreneurship major courses and give the university the role of a base university for nurturing young entrepreneurship talent.
Second, it is to build a space for youth entrepreneurship. The purpose is to utilize the university's idle land to create a specialized start-up campus linked to the university's specialized fields and Daegu Metropolitan City's five new industries to enable full-cycle start-up activities.
Third, it is to create an investment ecosystem. By creating a venue for continuous exchange between start-ups (consumers) and investors (suppliers), an active investment ecosystem can be created.
Fourth, if networking is formed and supported according to the specialization of the connection between universities and local start-up support institutions, the linkage between universities and start-up support institutions will be strengthened, and young people will be able to receive more quality start-up support projects.
Fifth, build a corporate cooperation platform. If we support network building between local businesses and start-ups, support start-up commercialization, track and manage start-up businesses, match jobs for unemployed youth, and provide portal services for re-start-up and re-employment rates, not only the start-up rate but also the employment rate will increase.
The basic components of the modern economy include technology, innovation, market economy, globalization, international trade, labor markets, consumers and producers. In addition to this basic composition, start-ups are regarded as a major component to the modern economy. They play a pivotal role in pioneering new markets and driving economic growth through new technologies and innovations.
