Sexual violence against adolescents has more serious sequelae than adults, and sexual violence damage in adolescence is an important factor that causes suicidal thoughts. However, studies examining youth sexual violence and suicidal. thoughts are still insufficient. Therefore, this study aims to examine the factors of suicidal thoughts of adolescents affected by sexual violence as personal and environmental factors through the perspective of ecological system credit, verify personal and environmental factors that can affect suicidal thoughts of adolescents affected by sexual violence, and suggest practical alternatives.
In this study, 281 teenagers who answered that they had experienced sexual violence out of a total of 6,314 people were selected as subjects of the study by analyzing the 2018 Survey on the Human Rights of Children and Youth conducted by the Korea Youth Policy Institute. SPSS 28.0 was used for analysis, and the research results are as follows.
Among the subjects, 17.7% (281 people) experienced sexual violence, and personal factors such as self-esteem and depression were verified to have a significant effect on the suicidal thoughts of adolescents affected by sexual violence. Through this study, practical proposals were presented and intervention measures were suggested.
