구비문학을 활용한 어린이박물관 체험전시 연구 : 국립민속박물관 어린이박물관 <해와 달이 된 오누이> 전시를 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 구비문학을 활용한 어린이박물관 체험전시의 필요성을 확인하고, 발전 방안을 모색하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이에 연구 대상으로 구비문학을 활용한 어린이 체험전시를 기획하여 운영하고 있는 국립민속박물관 어린이박물관의 상설전시로 설정하고, 운영 사례를 분석함으로써 문제점과 한계를 파악하고 이에 대한 보완점을 바탕으로 발전 방안을 모색하였다.
연구의 진행은 먼저 <해와 달이 된 오누이> 전시 현황을 파악하고, 전시에 해와 달이 된 오누이 설화의 서사구조를 대입하여 비교 분석하였다. 더불어 제시된 사례에 대한 전시 기획자의 인터뷰 및 관람객 추적 관찰 조사를 진행하여 다각적인 분석을 시도하였다. 분석을 통해 도출된 보완책으로서 발전 방안은 다음과 같다.
첫째, 구비문학의 서사구조와 전시 시나리오를 일치시키는 것을 제안하였다. 구비문학을 활용한 어린이박물관 체험전시는 전시 관람자에게 구비문학의 서사구조와 그 속에 담긴 내용적 가치와 전시 메시지를 온전하게 전달하는 것이 가장 큰 목표이다.
둘째, 전시 시나리오에 합당한 전시유물을 선정할 것을 제안하였다. 구비문학의 서사구조와 전시 시나리오를 일치시키고, 전시 시나리오에 합당한 유물을 선정하여 통일감을 주는 것이 필요하다. 나아가 어린이박물관의 주 관람자인 어린이의 관점에서 풀어내는 세심함이 요구된다.
셋째, 어린이박물관에 걸맞은 체험전시를 찾아낼 것을 제안하였다. 구비문학 작품이 가지고 있는 고유의 메시지는 전달해주면서 어린이의 눈높이에 따라 적절한 체험 요소들을 가미하는 것이 중요하다. 구비문학을 활용한 어린이박물관 체험전시는 그 작품이 가지고 있는 본연의 서사구조와 가치를 전달하는 방법으로써 서사 흐름에 부합되는 체험전시물을 기획해야 한다.
종합적으로 구비문학을 활용한 어린이박물관 체험전시는 구비문학과 전시유물, 체험전시물이 유기적으로 연결되어 구비문학의 가치와 전시 메시지를 관람자에게 온전하게 전달할 수 있어야 한다.
이와 같은 발전 방안은 향후 구비문학을 활용한 어린이박물관 체험전시 발전에 기여할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. 또한 본 연구를 단초로 어린이박물관에서의 구비문학을 활용한 체험전시에 대한 관심과 후속 연구가 이어져 어린이박물관에서의 구비문학을 활용한 체험전시와 연구가 더욱 활발해지기를 바란다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study aims to identify the necessity of children's museum experience exhibitions using the oral literature and find strategies to develop them. The permanent exhibition of the Children's Museum of the National Folk Museum, which planned and operated children experience exhibitions using the oral literature, was set up as the subject of this study; cases of operating exhibitions were analyzed to find out problems and limitations; and strategies for developing them were sought based on the countermeasures.
This study was progressed, first by investigating the present condition of the exhibition "The Brother and Sister Who Became the Sun and the Moon" and by substituting the narrative structure of the folktale for exhibition to compare and analyze it. Besides, this study conducted the interview with the exhibition manager about the proposed cases and the follow-up observation research of viewers, to carry out multilateral analyses. Strategies for development as countermeasures drawn through analyses were as follows:
First, this study suggested to square the narrative structure of the oral literature with exhibition scenario. The biggest aim of the children's museum experience exhibition using the oral literature is to correctly deliver to viewers the narrative structure of the oral literature, the value of the contents and the message of the exhibition.
Second, this study suggested to select exhibition relics suitable for the exhibition scenario: It is necessary to square the narrative structure of the oral literature with exhibition scenario and select relics suitable for the exhibition scenario to match them each other. Furthermore, it is necessary to carefully organize the exhibition from the viewpoint of children, the main viewers, of the children's museum.
Third, this study suggested to find experience exhibitions suitable for the children's museum: It is important to deliver oral literature's own message and to add proper experience elements according to the level of children. As the children's museum experience exhibition using the oral literature is a method of delivering the exhibited work's own narrative structure and value, the experience exhibits have to be planned in accord with the stream of the narrative.
As a whole, children's museum experience exhibitions using the oral literature have to organically connect the oral literature with exhibited relics and experience exhibits to correctly deliver to viewers the value of the oral literature and message of the exhibition.
These strategies for development are expected to contribute to the development of the children's museum experience exhibition using the oral literature in the future. Moreover, this study is expected to be the beginning of attention for the experience exhibition using the oral literature in children's museums and of the follow-up studies, so that experience exhibitions using the oral literature in the children's museum and studies will be more active.
