요 약

옛 가야의 수도인 경북 고령은 많은 문화자산을 가지고 있는 도시이다. 그 가운데 우리나라의 가장 오래된 현악기인 가야금이 처음 만들어 지고 연주되어졌으며, 지금도 가야금의 문화를 이어가고 있는 곳으로 악성 우륵선생의 업적을 높이고 가야금을 후대까지 전승 발전시키기 위해 꾸준한 노력 하고 있다.
본 논문에서는 경북고령이 가지고 있는 가야금의 문화적 가치에 대해 알아보고 가야금의 문화가 고령지역에 어떠한 영향을 미쳤는지를 연구하였다.
국악도시 경북고령의 가야금문화 활성화 방안 연구를 위해 첫째, 고령의 가야금교육현황을 학교의 교육과 학교 외 교육으로 구분하여 조사하였다. 그 결과로 다양한 계층에 맞는 체계적인 가야금 교육프로그램으로 유아대상의 교육프로그램, 1인1악기 프로그램의 가야금활용, 중 ․ 고등학교의 교육시스템 구축, 일반인대상 프로그램의 확대와 문화소외계층 흡수 할 수 있는 교육프로그램의 필요성을 제시하였다.
둘째, 우리나라 국악공연과 고령의 국악공연의 현황조사, 가야금의 연주단체 조사와 통해 고령의 가야금 발전방안에 대해 살펴보았다. 대부분의 국악공연이 대도시에 편중되어 있지만 고령이 가지고 있는 가야금의 지역적 특색을 살려 가야금을 비롯한 국악의 공연문화를 효과적으로 활성화시키는 노력방안으로 상설공연과 전문연주단의 연계성, 국악전문공연장의 필요성을 제시하였다.
셋째, 가야금의 문화발전을 위해 지역적 문화자원과 역사인물의 문화자원을 잘 활용할 수 있는 전문 인력을 이용하여 전문화, 체계화된 행정력을 갖추고 가야금문화의 발전에 이바지 할 수 있을 것이다.
가야금교육을 통한 인적자원 개발, 국악공연을 통한 예술문화 확산, 예술행정을 통한 시스템 구축을 통한 많은 노력들이 가야금의 문화가 더욱 좋은 방향성을 가지고 개선되기를 바란다. 이러한 지역문화의 진흥과 균형발전을 통해서 지역의 공동체와 지역문화의 정체성을 확립할 수 있을 것이며, 나아가 고령의 가야금의 문화가 우리나라 국악발전에 중심에 있도록 노력해야 할 것이다.

Abstract

Goryeong in Gyeongsangbuk-do has a lot of cultural heritages as a capital city of old Gaya. Gayageum was first made and played in Goryeong, which is the oldest string instrument in Korea among those cultural heritages. Goryeong has maintained the culture of Gayageum to the present and has been trying to celebrate the work of Ureuk and develop Gayageum in later generations.
The purpose of this study is to look into the cultural value of Gayageum in Goryeong and research the effects of the Gayageum culture on the Goryeong region.
For the research of the activation plans of the Gayageum culture in Goryeong as a city of Korean traditional music, this study has first investigated the current situation of Gayageum education in Goryeong in two parts of in and out of school education. As a result, the following has been suggested; preschool education program as a systematic Gayageum education program for the diverse social stratum, Gayageum education in one instrument for one person program, the construction of education system in middle and high school, the expansion of the programs for the general public, and the necessity of the education program for the alienated culture groups.
Second, this study has investigated the present condition of the performances of Korean traditional music in both Korea and Goryeong, the organizations of Gayageum performances, and the development plans of Gayageum in Goryeong. The connectivity of the regular performance and the professional performance organization and the necessity of special concert halls for the performance of Korean traditional music have been suggested to effectively activate the performance culture of Korean traditional music including Gayageum though most performances of Korean traditional music are concentrated in the major cities.
Third, the development of Gayageum culture will be achieved by utilizing the professional manpower who can make good use of regional culture resources and the culture resources of the historical figures for the cultural development of Gayageum.
It is desirable to improve the Gayageum culture by making efforts of the development of human resources through Gayageum education, the diffusion of culture and arts through the performances of Korean traditional music, and the construction of the system through arts administration. The local community and the identity of regional culture will be established through the advancement and the balanced development of regional culture and lots of efforts should be made to put the Gayageum culture of Goryeong in the center of the development of Korean traditional music in Korea.
