This study is aimed at inquiring into the influence of the sports event through the holding of junior-senior high school soccer tournaments on a local community. For this purpose, this study made an analysis of the opinions about the invitation of sports events, intentions to cooperate on sports event, awareness of the junior-senior high school soccer tournaments and the influence of such soccer tournaments on a local community targeting 347 local residents at Uljin county, which hosted a junior-senior high school soccer tournament, from April, 2012 until August, 2012.
This study made a conclusion as follows:
First, it was found that there was a significant difference in gender in the difference in opinions about the invitation of sports events consequent on demographic characteristics.
Second, it was found that there was a significant difference in gender and age in the difference in intentions to cooperate on sports events consequent on demographical characteristics.
Third, it was found that there was a significant difference in gender and age in the difference in local residents' perception about the junior-senior high school soccer tournaments consequent on demographical characteristics.
Fourth, women were found to be higher than men in economic effect, cultural effect, environmental effect and city publicity effect of junior-senior high school soccer tournament on gender consequent on demographical characteristics.
Fifth, it was found that in the difference in the perception about the influence of a junior-senior high school soccer tournament on a local community in relation with the age consequent on demographical characteristics, those in their 30s had higher awareness of economic effect than those in their 60s, those in their 10s and 40s had higher awareness of environmental effect than those in their 50s and 60s, and those in their 40s had higher awareness of city publicity effect than those in their 50s and 60s.
Sixth, it was found that in the difference in the influence of the junior-senior high school soccer tournament on a local community in relation with the marital status consequent on demographical characteristics, those unmarried were higher than those married in environmental effect only.
Seventh, it was found that the opinions about the invitation of sports events, and intentions to cooperate on this had a significant correlation in the positive direction with economic, cultural, environmental, and city publicity effect on a local community.
Eighth, it was found that in the influence of the opinions about the invitation of sports events & intentions to cooperate on the event, and the holding of a junior-senior high school soccer tournament on a local community, the opinions about attracting sports events had 67.3% influence, intentions to cooperate on sports events had 68.2% influence, and the awareness of a junior-senior high school soccer tournament had as high as 73.3% influence on a local community respectively.
