      Since the study of fairy tale appreciation that belongs to literary area of elementaryeducation curriculum is processed within the fixed frame, it is difficult to teach as making the best use of the special quality. It is apt to decrease children's affinity for the fairy tales, thus after letting them appreciate fairy tales the lower grade-students are fond of in various ways, this study has groped for the plan to raise children's ability to appreciate literature and expand the expression ability. Accordingly, the finding is summarized like as follows.

      In order to make a theoretical basis of this study, Korean language department 7th round educational process and fairy tale appreciation-related elementary literature area have been analyzed in chapter?. The study tried to classify again the literary area of lower grades according to the system, and to find a way to appreciate fairy tales and expand expression ability.
      Literary education has been aiming at understanding literary work and raising appreciation ability under the purpose of 'improving ability to utilize literary Korean language'. Supplemented part in the 7th round educational process stressed various kinds of style in learners' interpreting or appraising individual literary work, except understanding and appreciation. Education of Korean language is to raise scholarly attainments of Korean, that is, Korean ability. Education of literary appreciation needs to grow literary linguistic ability. The literary education centering on learners in order to improve literary linguistic ability needs to be realized focusing on learners' activities and process.
      In chapter ?, in order to analyze the actual condition of fairy tale guidance, ordinary attitude of the first grade students of this school toward fairy tale has been seized, the realities of children, teachers, and parents have been analyzed through questionnaire, and the research project regarding appreciation of fairy tale has been processed.
      Chapter ? contains various appreciation development processes and the finding for the practical side of teaching, in order to improve expression ability that is a research project.
      As the result of developing various ways to appreciate fairy tale for the purpose of expanding expression ability, the following conclusion has been attained.
      First, prior to unfold full-dress appreciation, in the aspect of fundamental activity, it let the children read lots of fairy tales kept in the library in order to improve their comprehensive ability and make them close to books. As the result of it, the majority of children got to be fond of reading, confident of presenting theirappreciation before classmates, and logic in speaking.
      Second, it made the lower grade students who are poor at reading and comprehension understand easily the flow of contents by narrating fairy tale. It was helpful to understand overall story of fairy tale, and to let the children be interested in fairy tale and fond of reading.
      Third, as grasping the kind of fairy tales children prefer through surveying, and applying the finding to appreciation, it became a motive to spare a lot of time for reading fairy tales.
      Fourth, as the result of applying various strategies of fairy tale appreciation, writing a letter to the main characters and introducing the read books to friends improved the ability to understandthe main character and to express through writing. Drawing a main character, interesting scene, and illustrations depicted in the fairy tale took the role of purifying children's emotion, by dealing with lots of aspects connected to children's life, made them observe illustrations of fairy tale carefully and improved their ability to express by painting.
      Fifth, although it was insufficient to present the story of fairy tale applied for execution of this project, it resulted in raising their courage and confidence to speak in front of many others, and expression ability to deliver their own thoughts to others in the right way.
      Sixth, even though it was not easy to express the result of appreciation creatively, it prepared for a base to expand the expression ability, by showing sincere attitude to make effort to express children's own ability in the level of the lower grades.
