건설산업 지속가능경영 주제 분석 : TBL 및 핵심 주제 범주에 대한 학술연구와 실무 간 비교

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 건설산업의 지속가능경영에 대한 학문적 논의와 기업 실무 보고 간의 주제적 차이와 연계성을 비교 분석함으로써 실천 가능한 지속가능성 전략의 방향성을 도출하고자 수행되었다. 최근 ESG 경영이 기업 운영의 필수 요소로 부상하면서 건설업과 같이 자원 집약적이고 환경·사회적 영향이 큰 산업에서의 지속가능성 확보는 중요한 과제가 되었다. 그러나 기존 연구들은 주로 환경 중심의 단기 분석에 치우쳐 있었으며 사회·경제적 이슈나 시계열적 접근이 상대적으로 부족하였다. 이에 본 연구는 체계적 문헌 분석 (Systematic Literature Review, SLR)과 정량·정성 콘텐트 분석을 병행하여 10년간 (2015~2024)의 국제 학술지 99편과 국내 주요 4개 건설기업의 지속가능경영 보고서를 GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) 기준과 여섯 가지 핵심 주제 범주 (정책 및 규제, 전략 및 실행체계, 프로젝트 관리, 공급망 및 조달, 평가기법 및 지표, 기술 및 혁신)에 따라 분석하였다. 그 결과 학문 영역에서는 ‘평가기법 및 지표’와 ‘전략 및 실행체계’ 주제가, 실무 보고서에서는 ‘사회적 이슈’와 ‘기후변화 대응’ 등이 높은 비중을 차지하였다. 본 연구는 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 건설산업 지속가능경영 연구의 주요 흐름과 공백을 진단하고 ESG 전략 수립, 평가체계 고도화, 기술 기반 실천 강화 등의 학술과 실무에 대한 향후 연구 방향을 제안한다. 궁극적으로 이 연구는 학문과 실무 간 간극을 메우고 건설업 지속가능성 제고를 위한 이론적·실천적 기반을 제공한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study aims to offer practical insights for sustainability strategies in the construction sector through the comparison and analysis of thematic variations and similarities between academic and corporate narratives. Considering the environmental and social issues present in the industry—like high resource intensity and substantial environmental and social consequences—achieving sustainability in the construction sector has turned into an essential responsibility, especially as ESG management has become a key component of corporate practices. Nonetheless, earlier research has frequently concentrated solely on immediate environmental viewpoints, overlooking broader social and economic aspects or long-term evaluations. In order to overcome these deficiencies, this work carries out a systematic literature review (SLR) based on quantitative and qualitative content analysis. It adopts an international framework of analysis (GRI) and identifies six thematic dimensions (policy and regulation, strategy and implementation, project management, supply chain and procurement, evaluation methods and indicators, technology and innovation), generated from the content analysis of 99 international academic papers and sustainability reports of four large Korean construction companies (2015-2024).
The results show that academic research is overwhelmingly concerned with "evaluation methods and indicators" and "strategy and implementation." For corporate reports, the emphasis is on "social issues" and "climate change response." Drawing upon these implications, the article delineates thematic patterns and research lacunae in sustainability management and suggests opportunities for advancing ESG strategies, refining assessment systems and reinforcing technology-enabled praxis. Finally, this study links theory with practice as providing an academic and practical groundwork for the development of sustainability in the construction industry.
