This thesis is concerned with identifying transfer functions of the nano translation device. The main objective of this thesis is to obtain correct transfer functions of this system by using identification tools in MATLAB.
In many cases, the systems are so complex and huge that it is impossible to obtain correct models using only physical laws. These problems can be solved by system identification experimental method.
In this thesis, transfer functions of the system is derived by using State-Space, ARX and ARMAX model structure based on input/output data. It is very difficult to design controller, because these order of transfer functions is high degree. So order of transfer function is decreased using model reduction. The best model structure is selected by fit rate, correlation function and the smallest order.
