The purpose of this research is to study how students can improve self-understanding, choose their life path and major, and develop their ability to plan life path for the entry into desired university through life path planning activities, with reflective action research approaching.
For the accomplishment of this research purpose, I have set up the research contents as follows.
First, search how the students can look for their personality, interest and aptitude through "self understanding".
Secondly, search how the students can find out suitable life path and major through "life path and major finding activities".
Thirdly, search how the students can plan and design the life path preparation through designing activities for their study plans.
The results of this research are as follows.
First, through self-understanding such as "looking for personality", they could find the way to understand themselves positively and fully.
They have found a matter of concern in "looking for interest" and found ability to do well in "looking for aptitude".
In "looking for personality", they have found the behavior patterns and reaction patterns about the interpersonal relations and things, then related them to jobs. Therefore they could come to know the way to find out life path reasonably.
Secondly, based on understanding of one's own, I have made students find their own careers in various ways, with the help of using computers and web-searching. As a result, it was provisional but helpful enough to match the life path and school curriculums and provided an opportunity to find right life path and study courses.
Thirdly, by searching the web-sites stipulating entrance conditions of universities, students could find out ways making the plan of study for life path. And, by estimating their abilities, students could know their strong and weak points, leading up to the basic data of their plans for goal achievement. By setting up the study plans, students could more focus on their study subjects and planned-study-courses.
Students could guess that important occupations for the future, at the present and in the past, through a reflective action research. And they could know their interest, aptitude, character and so on and then could group concretely their occupations for the future.
After that, they could make a connection of departments which they want to enter and occupations that they will choose, and finally they could make a choice of their life paths which is one of the most important choices for lifetime.
Furthermore, students could get out of the fixed idea that they should just study hard without any thoughts and could check the subjects of essentially needed parts for their ways. Also they could have a clear sense of direction, highly-motivated concentration, confident learning attitude and even voluntary living attitude by the learning activities which are straightly linked to their ways.
