Humans live in an era of rapid change due to industrialization and science and technology. This made life convenient, but it became difficult to predict what would happen in the future. This gives humans anxiety, and in the scientific revolution of industrialization and technology, artificial intelligence (AI) sometimes alienates humans. In fact, humans worked in industrial sites for the technological revolution, but it became an accessory to a huge plant called the world, resulting in human alienation. In this world, researchers try to show that they try to change away from a set routine through the flow of desire. Deleuze and Guattari mentioned that desire is like a machine that varies and produces and operates something through a system of flow and cutting. The flow of desire changes, leaving an indication in the territory in which he was placed, drawing lines of flight called a transversal line that represented an attempt to change in the life of uncertainty. The place to seek change in this way is a plant as a deterritorialization, and the process of this change is like a plant that produces something. The researcher viewed the structure of the pipes in the petrochemical complex from a macroscopic point of view as connected like a vein or a spider's web, similar to the movement of the main character in Proust's 『Finding Lost Time』, trying to find the truth of the past. In addition, the transverse connection of the entire structure of the vast novel and the expression of the problem of communication within the novel through transversality was considered to correspond to the pipe of the plant being connected to other plants over the border.
Researchers believe that pipes that seek a certain direction and connect are similar to desires. The desire flow allows the virtual to be actualized by machinable, physical, and divisive operation, and the possibility of being in an individual's body is expressed. The researcher expressed the hidden possibilities of the researcher through painting production and actualized the autobiographical events through the installation of the research work. Constant attempts to continue the flow by drawing a flight line expand the horizon of thoughts and operate the plant environment of the deterritorial even today.
The master's degree exhibition, implemented by the researcher as the installation of painting production, virtually embodied the plant environment as a deterritorialization with numerous pipes flowing through the desire, and virtually attempted a flexible and variable arrangement. Engineering plants are mechanistically designed to produce products and operate by meticulously reproducing them without any errors as shown in the design drawings, but the variable and virtual plants implemented by researchers have the potential to be biological and machinably variable. In general, the main purpose is to produce products in plant, but the researcher's ‘plant’ is to experiment on how it works as a deterritorial plant rather than the concept of representation. When the research work was installed and produced in the exhibition hall as above, the researcher showed that it operated as a desire machine through 'flexible joint' and 'elbow' parts, which are ready-made bodies without organs, and connected them to the wall of the exhibition hall to seek transversibility with machinable operation about the time and the spatiality. An event called an exhibition occurs when various factors, not only painting products, are sequenced and various factors such as the date of exhibition, place, time, and person are variably combined. The plant environment installed and produced by the researcher's research work also becomes a variable environment by adding informal arrangements such as painting works, installation methods, and exhibition halls.
Deleuze and Guattari said that desires flow microscopically through divisive operation and become molecularized. He noted that desire proceeds in the direction of fragmentation. Among the researchers' research works, a small canvas for time is combined to express the sense of fragmentation virtually, and the fragmented canvas becomes an organ-less body which is machine with potential and attempts new possibilities. The fragmented canvas itself means a single creation or mechanical arrangement and heads to deterritorialization.
Through this paper, the researcher sought change while painting production about the plant environment as a deterritorial, and through this study, the plant environment as a deterritorial is possible anywhere, not completed or terminated, but a symbolic space that expands and changes.
