In this study, we applied the CCAP program to the social studies class in the middle school. We also organized a student group having diverse cultural experiences through several foreign cultural center visiting programs. These activities have a common purpose which promotes the international understanding and attitude for our students.To accomplish this purpose, we applied the CCAP program to 9th grade students belonging to one middle school which is located at Goyang City in the April, 10th 2005.And then we analyzed with a comparison study ( two Before and After treatments) that our students' international understanding is improved through the CCAPIn addition, to implement our experimental results of CCAP program, we actively involved in the CCAP program and listened to students's opinion of CCAP program.We also provided an international understanding student group from a middle school located at Goyang City, Gyeonggi Province the opportunity to visit foreign cultural centers and then tried to observe the change of students's international understanding after the visit.The results from our study are as follows:First, we found that the students' attitude of understanding the culture of other country was changed to be positive after having the experience of foreign cultural center visiting program based on the CCAP program.Second, after having the experience of Foreign cultural center visiting program based on the CCAP program, students showed not only the positive attitude of understanding the culture of other country but also a pride of our cultureBased on the results of our study, we can propose our suggestions to improve the education of international understanding as follows:First, we need to provide more chances to have the international understanding program such as CCAP to our students. Currently, it is difficult for many students to get the program as CCAP. To overcome this limitation, the only international education program sponsored by UNESCO until now should be extended to diverse international programs sponsored by Province or City public Education centers. Furthermore, if we spend more time to find foreign instructors for the program around our city, it may be not difficult to find foreign instructors for the international education program.Second, we need to make more places to provide the international education program. Because of the restrictions of location of the international education program center (especially located at Seoul ) and the number of foreign cultural centers, many students do not have a chance to have the international education program. We need to think about these restrictions and propose new ideas for the solutions of these problems.Third, we need to develop diverse international education programs for our students to improve the cultural understanding of other countries. To help our students to understand the culture of foreign countries, we need to ask the staffs from the foreign cultural center to provide various programs of their culture to our students.
