  The purpose of this study is to understand the self-awareness and interpersonal experiences of counseling psychology graduate students during their master's program, focusing on the implications for their personal lives and counselor development. For this purpose, Giorgi's phenomenological study method was used to conduct in-depth interviews with eight master's students and graduates of counseling-related programs at a graduate school in the Seoul metropolitan area, and the data were analyzed. As a result, 16 subfactors and 4 constructs were derived. The results showed that the four constructs were "meeting myself," "experiencing new relationships," "living as myself," and "moving forward as a counselor.
  Taken together, the phenomenological implications of the findings of this study for counseling psychology graduate students' self-awareness and interpersonal experiences during their master's program are as follows. First, the self-awareness and interpersonal experiences of counseling psychology graduate students in the master's program enabled them to achieve inner maturity and live as "me" and to achieve connection and self-differentiation in interpersonal relationships. Second, the empirical knowledge gained through the counseling psychology graduate students' self-awareness and interpersonal experiences helped them to develop holistically as counselors. Specifically, they were able to accept their limitations as counselors and to tolerate their own fears and frustrations so that they could tolerate the fears and frustrations of their clients.
  Therefore, the self-awareness and interpersonal experiences that counseling psychology graduate students experience in the master's program have a reciprocal positive impact on their personal lives and counselor development, promoting their growth as individuals and counselors and achieving holistic development. In conclusion, the essential importance of self-awareness and interpersonal experiences experienced by counseling psychology graduate students in their master's program can be understood as a holistic developmental process of maturing as individuals and as counselors. Finally, the limitations of this study and suggestions for further research were discussed.

  본 연구는 상담심리 대학원생이 대학원 석사과정에서 경험하는 자기인식과 대인관계 경험이 개인적인 삶에 가지는 의미와 상담자 발달에 가지는 의미를 중심으로 살펴보며 참여자들의 경험과 그 의미를 이해하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 Giorgi의 현상학적 연구방법을 사용하여 수도권에 위치한 대학원에서 상담 관련 전공을 한 석사 졸업생과 수료생 총 8명과 심층 면접을 실시하고 자료를 분석하였다. 그 결과 16개의 하위요소, 4개의 구성요소가 도출되었다. 연구결과는 <나 자신과 만나다>, <새로운 관계를 경험하다>, <나답게 살아가다>, <상담자로 나아가다>로 나타났다.
  연구결과를 종합하여 본 연구를 통해 발견된 상담심리 대학원생이 대학원 석사과정에서 경험하는 자기인식과 대인관계에 대한 현상학적 의미는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 상담심리 대학원생의 대학원 석사과정에서 경험하는 자기인식과 대인관계 경험은 개인 내적의 성숙을 이루어 가며 ‘나답게’ 살아갈 수 있도록 하였고, 대인관계에서 연결 회복과 자기분화를 이루어 갈 수 있게 하였다. 둘째, 상담심리 대학원생의 자기인식과 대인관계 경험을 통해 습득한 경험적인 지식은 이들이 상담자로서 나아가는데 전인적인 발달을 도왔다. 특히 자신의 한계를 받아들이게 되면서 상담자로서의 한계를 인정하였고 스스로 불안과 좌절을 견딜 수 있게 되면서 내담자의 불안과 좌절을 함께 버텨 줄 수 있었다.
  따라서 상담심리 대학원생이 대학원 석사과정에서 경험하는 자기인식과 대인관계 경험은 이들의 개인적 삶과 상담자 발달에 상호 긍정적인 영향을 주어 개인으로서, 상담자로서 서로의 성장을 촉진하고 전인적인 발달을 이루어 간다고 볼 수 있다. 결론적으로 상담심리 대학원생이 대학원 석사과정에서 경험하는 자기인식과 대인관계 경험의 본질적 의미는 ‘개인으로서, 상담자로서 성숙 되어 가는 전인적인 발달과정’이라고 이해될 수 있다. 마지막으로 본 연구가 가지는 제한점과 후속 연구를 위한 제언을 하였다.
