韓國 벤처기업의 Born Global 現狀의 決定要因에 관한 硏究 = (A) Study on the Determinants of Born Global Ventures in Korea

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 Born Global 현상의 개념 정립과 이에 부합하는 우리나라 Born Global 벤처기업의 현황을 살펴본 후, 벤처기업의 Born Global 여부에 영향을 주는 요인을 규명해보고자 하는데 있다.
이를 위해 본 연구에서는 기존 문헌의 고찰을 통해 Born Global의 개념 및 벤처기업의 특성에 대한 연구를 살펴보았으며, 문헌연구 과정을 통해서 나온 Born Global 개념에 부합하는 우리나라 벤처기업의 현황을 파악해 보았다. 또한 문헌연구와 벤처기업의 Born Global 현황을 통해 벤처기업의 Born Global 여부에 대한 가설을 설정하였으며, 가설 검증을 위해 수집된 자료에 대해 SPSS를 이용하여 상관관계 분석과 로지스틱 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 실증 분석에서는 벤처기업의 Born Global 여부에 영향을 주는 요인에 대한 산업군 간의 차이를 알아보기 위하여, 크게 전통제조 산업, IT 산업, 첨단제조 산업으로 나누어 각각 분석 해 보았다. 기업 규모의 경우에는 전체 종업원 수 기준과 매출액 규모 기준으로 각각 측정해 보았으며, 기술 집약도의 경우에도 세계 최고 대비 기술력 수준과 매출액 대비 R&D 투자 비율로 나누어 측정해 보았다.
이에 대한 실증 분석 결과는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 관련 산업 경험의 경우 전 산업군에 걸쳐 벤처기업의 Born Global여부에 영향을 주는 것으로 밝혀졌다.
둘째, 경영자 연령은 전 산업군에 걸쳐 벤처기업의 Born Global 여부에 영향을 주는 것으로 밝혀졌다.
셋째, 기업 규모의 경우 전체 종업원 수 기준의 측정에 있어서는 전통 제조 산업과 IT 산업에 속하는 벤처기업의 Born Global 여부에 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 IT 산업의 경우에는 가설의 예상 검증부호(+)와는 다른 부호(-)를 나타냈다. 매출액 규모를 기준으로 한 결과는 첨단제조 산업에 속하는 벤처기업의 Born Global 여부에 영향을 주는 것으로 밝혀졌다.
넷째, 기술 집약도의 경우 세계 최고 대비 기술력 수준은 전통 제조 산업에, 매출액 대비 R&D 투자 비율은 IT 산업과 첨단 제조 산업에 속하는 벤처기업의 Born Global 여부에 영향을 주는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 보유 특허 수의 경우 전 산업군에 걸쳐 설명력이 없는 변수로 밝혀졌다.
다섯째, 네트워크 활용의 경우에는 IT 산업에 속하는 벤처기업의 Born Global 여부에만 영향을 주고 있으며 나머지 두 산업군에 속하는 벤처기업에 대해서는 설명력이 없는 것으로 밝혀졌다.
여섯째, 벤처캐피탈 지원 유무는 전 산업군에 걸쳐 우리나라 벤처기업의 Born Global 여부에 영향을 주지 못하는 것으로 밝혀졌다.
일곱째, 전략 유형 선택의 경우 시장 주도형 전략을 선택하는 벤처기업 중에는 전통 제조 산업군에 속하는 벤처기업만이 Born Global 여부에 영향을 받는 것으로 밝혀졌다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study is performed to find out the Determinants of Born Global Ventures in Korea
Major findings of this study are as follows:
First, it is found that the prior firm experiences affect the born -global in venture business over the whole industries.
Second, it is found that the age of managers affects the born-global in venture business over the whole industries.
Third, it is found that in the measurement of the basis of employee's numbers, the scale of business affects the born-global of venture business in traditional manufacturing industry and IT industry but, in IT industry, negative sign(-) which is different from the hypothesis' positive sign(+) shows up. In the basis of scale of sale, it is found that the scale of business affects the born-global of venture business in high-tech industry.
Fourth, in case of the technological intensiveness, technological capability comparing the world best one affects the born-global in the traditional manufacturing industry, R&D investment rate comparing the gross sale influences the born-global in the IT industry, high-tech industry.
Fifth, the utilization of networks just affects born-global in IT industry, not in the other industries.
Sixth, it is found that the support of venture capital doesn't affect born-global in any industry (over the whole industries).
Seventh, in case of the choosing strategical types, only traditional manufacturing industry companies which choose market leading strategy in the venture business, are influenced by born-global.
