The purpose of music education is to foster positive attitude and interest in music by developing musical nature and building up capabilities of creative expression and appreciation through various musical activities. In music education, extension of creative ability is so important that we call it musical education itself.
Important creativity directly relate to creating songs; however, our present music education in middle school is proceeded partially not only to improve the creativity, but to learn music theory and singing.
In order to recognize the importance of composition teaching and to actualize that recognition in the field, this study has examined how this composition sector is utilized in musical texts. I analyzed the system and the textbooks of the second grade of middle school in the 7th Curriculum of Music Department by the Ministry of Education. By analyzing the creative contents in the 7th Curriculum of Music Department of middle school
The facts I have studied are as followings:
We analyzed and compared musical impromptu performance in five kinds of music textbooks, making the key by words of a song, making key by form, putting accompaniment with key, traditional rhythm with creational activities.
I have found some problems. The creative activities in textbooks are given less weight than the other fields of music education. Moreover, the specific examples arent in the book. The creation contents arent various, either. Students can develope their originality by expressing personal musical idea. Therefore, music books should be reexamined in order to approach the educational curriculum from basic to deep contents. The teachers should improve music education through continuous efforts and self-advancements.
