비교우위를 도입한 수직수평경쟁에서의 노력형태결정

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 논문의 목적은 경쟁모형에서 참여자들이 상금을 획득하기 위해서 노력의 양뿐 만이 아니라 노력의 형태까지도 고려하는 경우를 상정하는 것이다. 즉, 승자결정함수가 참여자들의 투입된 노력수준에 의해서만 결정되는 것이 아니라 참여자의 노력형태에 의해서도 영향을 받는 경쟁상황을 분석하는 것이다. 때문에 이전의 수직경쟁의 승자결정함수가 각 참여자들마다 대칭적인 상황이었다면 참여자들의 노력의 양과 노력의 형태모두에 의해서 결정되는 승자결정함수는 처음에 어떤 노력형태를 기울이는가에 의해서 비대칭적인 승자결정함수로 결정될 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

I explore a stylized model of horizontal and vertical competition in tournaments with two competing firms. By introducing comparative advantage, I model a new underlying game. In this game, the organizer cares the type of effort as well as the amount of effort to determine the winner. So competition forces the players to choose not only their effort level but also their effort type. As analyzing each player's behavior, I show that there exist subgame perfect Nash equilibria of 4 types in some parameter configurations which include the organizer's preferences and the cost difference. The results inform me that the cost difference and the asymmetric preferences play a role in promoting a diversity. According to the results, if the organizer largely concentrates the difference in the type of effort, it is imperative to get the lowest cost player to compete against the highest cost player in the tournament.
