This study started a study on injuries according to the habit of participating in the point shoes class in areas where more adult hobby ballet people and point shoes class people wear point shoes can be exposed to the risk of injury due to the increasing number of point shoes class education for the general public. The purpose of this study is to investigate and analyze the characteristic aspects of the point shoes class participation habits of adult hobby ballet people who participate in point shoes class, focusing on the injuries in the lower extremities, which are the most frequent in ballet, and to investigate and analyze the cause of the injury, the area and shape and frequency of the injury, the status before and after the injury, and the physical characteristics of the participants who have experienced the injury so that they can fully enjoy ballet in a better environment as well as the health of adult hobby ballet people.
To achieve the purpose of this study, 168 adult students, adult ballet members, and hobby ballet lovers from ballet academies participating in point shoes classes across the country were surveyed and statistically analyzed using spss ver.25.0, and the conclusions based on the research problems of this study are as follows.
First, it was investigated that adult amateur ballet students participating in the point shoes class are women in their 30s who wear point shoes the most within one to two years of starting ballet. Most of them are beginner classes and take them once a week in the evening, and the participation time per session was the highest at 30 minutes to 1 hour.
Second, the injury experience was the highest, the ankle sprain was the highest, and the sooner the point shoes were worn compared to the ballet experience, the more injury experiences were, and the higher the evening and class level, the more severe the injury experiences were. Depending on your skill, it is considered that the number and time of taking point shoes classes should be gradually increased to prevent injury.
Third, when injured, they often receive medical treatment and treatment, and in the case of experiences of weak injuries, self-treatment is common after subjective judgment. After treatment, most of the point shoes classes were not stopped, but the period and number of times were reduced, and in the case of severe injuries, point shoes classes were stopped.
Fourth, due to the hip flexibility of adult amateur ballet students participating in the point shoes class, the range of leg tear operation was found to be the most, and the flexibility of the instep point was usually high, indicating that many participants did not completely reach the floor when toe-up in ballet position 1.
Fifth, adult amateur ballet students participating in the point shoes class often do ballet with their pelvis tilted forward, and most of them know that ballet should be done in the neutral state of the pelvis, but many participants think it is right to do ballet in the posterior slope state of the pelvis.
Therefore, ballet leaders should be responsible for taking charge of the body and instructing them to understand the theoretical part of body alignment and perform movements when performing ballet so that participants do not just follow the shape.
Class participants should need sufficient stretching, warm-up, organizing, rest, and proper practice before taking the point shoes class. However, since excessive stretching can cause injury, it should be focused on avoiding excessive stretching and gradually increasing flexibility. Due to the nature of ballet, wearing the point shoes without tightening the feet is also considered important to prevent injury.
Adult hobby ballet point shoes leaders should prepare classes so that students can emphasize ankle and foot strengthening exercises and perform appropriate basic movements before entering the class so that they can prevent toe, foot, ankle, and knee injuries that occur the most. In addition, those who are educated and educated by specialized institutions or experts on injury prevention to leaders should always recognize, value, and put them into practice. Furthermore, research on injury treatment and rehabilitation programs should be actively conducted.
