Improvement of igloo-type ammunition storage administration is achieved through condensation analysis of igloo-type ammunition storage in 0 ammunition depot. To prevent condensation, double wall and double floor were initially constructed to block heat loss toward cold ground, therefore increased internal air temperature. However, it had no effect on relative humidity, which lead insufficient effect on prevention. Hence, effective methods are investigated, such as parallel system with dehumidifier and assurance of internal insulation performance. Moreover, artificial ventilation is supplemented to natural ventilation, since natural ventilation in a basin topography had minute effect on prevention. In addition, increase of ducts and expansion of surface are required to natural ventilation through narrow ducts.
Condensation in general buildings is caused by high humidity air and cold surfaces. In underground concrete structures, deterioration of insulation performance, inflow of humid air, structural characteristics of ammunition, and defect of construction cause condensation. Ventilation, heating, insulation, and dehumidification can be achieved to prevent condensation.
st, condensation is classified according to the site of its occurrence. Surface condensation is the condensation that occurs on the surface where the ambient temperature becomes lower than the dew point temperature of that surface due to the lack of the structural insulation. Internal condensation occurs when the moisture-proofing treatment is not performed or impossible, hence the water vapor penetrates into the inner area with low temperature.
Second, condensation is assorted by the period of the occurrence. Summer season condensation takes place when hot and humid air is introduced into indoor space with a relatively low temperature, leading an increase of the relative humidity. Winter season condensation occurs when the air surrounding an object with extremely low temperature is cooled below the dew point temperature.
In conclusion, no standard has been set for the internal relative humidity inside ammunition storage in Korea, but NATO stipulates that ammunition storage environment should be maintain the relative humidity as 50 to 60% and the internal temperature as 10 to 15℃. Therefore, research on the prevention of condensation by igloo-type ammunition storage was achieved to draw optimal conditions for further application on ammunition storage.
wo igloo-type ammunition storage were selected and conducted. In addition, drainage waterways were constructed along the left and right and back walls of this glue-type ammunition storage, and dampers and open and closed grills were installed to control internal ventilation, and four rear panel (1 - 4) were installed close to the floor.
