하근찬 소설 연구 = A Study of Ha, Keun-chan`s Novels

국문 초록 (Abstract)

하근찬은 한국전쟁이 한국 사람들의 삶에 어떤 영향을 줬는지를 비극적으로 드러내고 있다.
이 논문에서는 한국전쟁이 한국 사람에게 어떠한 영향을 끼쳤는지와 그것을 극복해나가는 시골사람들의 삶의 강한 의지에 대해서 고찰하고, 육체적 손상 을 그림으로써 삶과 동떨어진 것이 아닌 일상생활 속에서 겪은 전쟁의 참상과 그것을 일상 속에서 극복해나가는 사람들의 모습, 그리고 전후 산업화와 분단 시대의 문학까지 확장하여 그 가능성을 밝히는 것을 목적으로 한다.
먼저 Ⅱ장에서는 한국 전쟁으로 인한 비극과 참담함과 함께 그것을 이겨나 가는 시골사람들의 건강하고 밝은 모습에 대해서 살펴보았다. 그 당시 대부분 을 차지하던 시골 사람들을 등장인물로 하여 더욱 현실감 있게 전후 상황을 드러냈고 더욱 비극적으로 그려냈음을 알 수 있다. 그런 현실 앞에서 자신의 능력껏 처한 역경을 이겨내고, 현실 부정보다는 현실을 수용하면서 어떻게든 삶을 살아내려는 긍정적이고 희망적인 미래를 암시한다.
그리고 Ⅲ장에서는 전쟁이 끝난 후 폐허 속에서 산업화가 진행됨에 따라 빚 어진 불합리와 모순, 부조리한 현실에 대한 비판, 그리고 전쟁으로 인한 분단 상황에 대한 인식을 고찰하였다.
요컨대, 하근찬은 전후 현실을 배경으로 한 작품부터, 분단에 대한 인식까지 따로 떼어내서 보는 것이 아니라 역사적 흐름으로 파악하여 시대의 현안들을 간과하지 않으면서 당대 현실과의 관계 속에서 민족의 수난을 파악하는 일관 된 태도를 보인다. 일관성 있게 작품을 형상화하고 굳건한 시대 의식에 바탕 을 둔 민족정신을 추구하는 특성을 보여준다고 하겠다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The novels of Ha Keun-chan intimately reflect that Korean War experiences have exerted Korean folks.
Central to this study are three ideas: 1)his novels characterize the influences of Korean War on Korean folks, 2)the characters illustrate the will to overcome tragic scar caused by war and positively accept their reality, 3) the use of portraying physically impaired people conjures up the sufferings from war have filtered into the daily lives. Also, this study on his novels expands into the literary possibilities of novels during postwar and industrialization era.
ChapterⅡ points the tragedy of Korean War and the acceptive attitude of Korean folks. Ha Keun-chan places the will to face reality in the figure of Korean folks in the country. They are the medium which represent the theme. It is symbolically relevant that actuality is accepted when people recognize their bitters.
With rapid and constructive industrialization in the ruins of Korean peninsula, absurdity and contradiction have been expressed in the daily lives of people. I elaborate Ha Keun-chan's recognition and criticism against these circumstances in ChapterⅢ.
Finally, Ha Keun-chan can be said the author who recognizes the consecutive flow of incidents with historical view. The literary portrayal of Korean folks shows his specific ability to characterize people's sufferings led by Korean War. Nationalism, one of his themes, is not from narrow viewpoints, but from contemporary and historical consciousness. The themes of accepting and overcoming hard reality project his every works.
