다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)
The purpose of this study was to develop a performance-based portfolio assessment model in the context of elementary school English education. For that 1) backgrounds, characteristics, and contents of portfolio assessment are reviewed 2) steps to portfolio assessment in terms of designing the portfolio, planning for and collecting the necessary data, analyzing the portfolio contents, and using the results are described. In particular, the contents of portfolio assessment are divided as core and optional elements and described in detail with samples. The application and its implication of portfolio assessment are also suggested based on the experiences of elementary teachers.
