영어 중등교사임용시험의 논술문항 타당성 연구: 수험자와 전문가의 관점을 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 세 가지 연구 질문을 가지고 시작되었다. 연구 질문 1은 기출 논술 문항 유형 중에서 부적합한 유형은 없는가에 대한 것이고, 부차적으로는 기출 논술 문항의 신뢰도 및 변별도를 높이는 방안은 무엇인지 탐색해 보는 것이다. 연구 질문 1에 대한 결과를 정리하자면, 임용논술 기출로서 출제된 유형(요약형, 실용형, 찬반논술형, 보고서형)과 신유형(다지문 통합형) 모두 수험자들의 능력을 신뢰도있게 측정할 수 있는 유형임이 판명되었다. 문항 유형의 난이도 측면에서 보면, 다지문 통합형과 요약형이 어려운 유형으로 드러났으며, 차례로 보고서형, 실용형, 찬반논술형 순으로 난이도를 서열화 할 수 있었다. 임용논술에서 자주 나온 찬반논술형의 경우 수험자들의 점수가 다른 유형에 비하여 월등히 높아서 변별력이 떨어지는 평가유형임이 밝혀졌다. 따라서, 임용논술시험에서 변별력을 더 보강하기 위해서는 요약형 문항이나 다지문 통합형의 논술 문제가 출제될 필요가 있음을 추론할 수 있었다. 마지막으로 척도 분석 결과는 일반영어논술에서 30점 척도 체제는 너무 과도하며, 현행과 같이 보통 15점 배점 이내로 제한하는 것이 바람직하다는 결론을 얻을 수 있었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The current study starts with three research questions. For research question 1, the researcher attempts to identify any misfitting essay-test item or rhetorical pattern using FACETS analysis. As a result, the researcher could not find any misfitting one of all five rhetorical patterns (summary writing, practical writing, pro & con type of writing, report & table description, read-write integrativeness). The researcher suggests that pro & con type of items need to be replaced with new type of rhetorical pattern such as read-write integrativeness for securing better discrimination. For research question two, students pointed out linguistics as the most challenging domain, while they regarded general Enlish as the relatively easiest discipline. After the students conducted blind peer rating, they suggested critical comments about each of the essay-writing items in Teacher Selection test. They critically commented the length of direction, the level of unclearness in item description, discrimination index of some items, and further construct validity of the item. For research question 3, two professionals per each of domains (English education, Linguistics, and English Literature) participated in the in-depth interview.
