한국 고대 월상문(月象文)의 성립 배경

국문 초록 (Abstract)

한국의 전통 문양 가운데 한국인의 가치와 정서가 잘 투영되어 있고 오랜 동안 우리와 함께 해 온 것으로 월상문(月象文 : 달을 상징하고 이를 형상화 한 문양)을 들 수 있다. 그런 까닭에 한국의 월상문을 연구 대상으로 삼았고, 그 첫 번째 연구 과제로 ‘한국 고대 월상문(月象文)의 성립 배경’을 다루었다

1. 연구 목적과 배경

달은 한국의 문화와 한국인의 정서 속에 밀착되어 있다. 따라서 달 신앙과 월상문에 관한 연구는 활용 가능한 문화 콘텐츠 개발, 민족문화유산의 새로운 가치 창출, 이를 통한 학생과 일반인의 관심과 이해를 증대시킬 수 있다는 점에서 그 의미를 지닌다. 또한 문화권과 시대 흐름에 따른 월상문의 차이를 살펴봄으로써 문화적 계통성과 문화 수용 관계를 고찰할 수 있고, 민중과 밀착된 관계를 가지며 신앙되어온 달과 이를 형상화 한 월상문을 통해 민중의 발자취와 그들이 향유했던 문화를 이해할 수 있다.
더욱이 이번 연구 과제는 본인의 박사학위논문인 『한국의 일상문(日象文) 연구』와도 유기적인 관련성을 지니고 있어 일상문에서 연구되었던 이론과 연구 방법을 십분 활용하여 월상문 연구를 진일보 시킬 수 있는 장점을 지닌다. 따라서 한국의 월상문 연구에 기초 자료가 될 ‘한국 고대 월상문의 성립 배경’을 연구 과제로 삼았고 이를 근간으로 하여 향후 월상문의 종합적인 연구 성과를 꾀하고자 한다.

2. 연구 내용과 연구 범위

‘한국 고대 월상문의 성립 배경’을 고찰하기 위해 연구 검토해야 할 사항은 1. 달 신앙과 월상문에 관한 연구사 정리, 2. 달의 상징적 의미, 3, 달 관련 설화, 4. 월상문의 구성 요소〔둥근 원과 초승달 모양 , 두꺼비, 토끼, 계수나무 등〕, 5. 월상문의 형식(유형) 분류 및 문화권에 따른 월상문의 특징 등이다.
본 연구는 한국인의 달 신앙과 한국의 월상문 성립을 연구 대상으로 하지만 문화권에 따른 월상문의 특징을 파악하기 위해 연구 대상에 중국 고대의 월상문을 포함시켰다. 또한 달 신앙과 월상문과의 상호 관련성을 심도 있게 고찰하기 위해서는 다양한 측면에서의 연구 접근이 필요하므로 유물과 유적을 비롯한 미술 자료 외에 설화와 민속 등의 자료도 연구에 활용하였다.

3. 연구 결과

1) 달 신앙과 월상문에 관한 선행 연구 검토
달 신앙은 설화 ‧ 민속 ‧ 문학 등 다양한 분야에서 연구가 이루어졌다. 따라서 분야별로 접근 방법이 다르고 연구 내용에 있어서도 많은 차이를 보인다.
월상문 연구는 대부분 일상문(日象文 : 해를 상징하고 이를 형상화 한 문양)과 함께 언급되었고 연구 대상도 중국 한대(漢代) 화상

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Wolsangmun (月象文: Lunar Pattern; a pattern that symbolizes and embodies the moon) can be said to be a traditional Korean pattern that reflects the values and emotions of Koreans best and has been around us for a long time. For this reason, the author decided to study the Lunar Pattern of Korea, and chose the ‘background of the ancient Korean Lunar Pattern (月象文)’ as the first research topic.

1. Purpose and background of the study

The moon has been at the heart of the Korean culture and the emotions of Koreans. Accordingly, researches on the worship of the moon and the Lunar Pattern hold great significance in that they can help develop useful cultural contents, create new values out of our cultural heritage and thus help students and citizens better understand the culture. Also, examination of difference in the Lunar Pattern depending on cultures and trends will make it possible to inquire into the relationship between cultural systemicity and acculturation, and the moon, which has been worshipped while maintaining a close relationship with the general public, and the Lunar Pattern, which embodies the moon, will make it possible to understand how people have lived and the culture they have enjoyed.
Furthermore, as this study is organically related to the author’s doctoral d
