본 연구는 그동안 비주류로 취급되었던 여행문학이 문학비평의 주요한 영역이 될 수 있음을 보여주고 여행문학의 비평 패러다임의 변화를 읽어내 국가적 정체성에 매이지 않은 유연한 주체의 스토리텔링의 가능성을 탐색하였다. 이를 위하여 영미문학에서 대표적인 여행문학인 본 자료를 분석하였다.
