기술혁신 보상확보 메커니즘 효과성의 산업별 차이와 유형 분류

국문 초록 (Abstract)

기술혁신 전략을 구성하고 기술혁신의 성공적인 실행을 위해 중요한 요소 중 하나는 바로 기술혁신에 대한 보호 여부의 결정과 보호 방법의 선택일 것이다.
전통적으로 경제학적인 면과 전략적인 측면에서 혁신에 대한 보상을 최대한 많이 얻기 위해 기술혁신을 보호하는 것을 강조해왔다. 하지만 이러한 보호 여부와 그 수준을 결정하는 일은 매우 복잡한 문제라고 할 수 있다.
일반적으로 기업들이 기술혁신에 대한 보상을 확보하는 메커니즘으로는 특허, 비밀유지, 시장 선점 등이 있다고 알려져 있다. 기업의 입장에서는 기술혁신에 대한 수익 확보 전략은 매우 중요하다. 왜냐하면 어떠한 전략을 세우느냐에 따라 기업의 흥망성쇠가 달라진다고 할 수 있기 때문이다.
특허는 기술혁신을 위한 R&D에 독점적인 권리를 보장해 주는 것으로 20년동안 안정적인 이익의 가능성을 추구할 수 있지만 그동안의 국외 연구에서 드러난 결과로는 특별히 특허가 기술혁신에 대한 보상확보를 위한 최선의 방법은 아니라는 것을 보여주고 있으며 이는 기술혁신의 보상확보를 위해서는 산업별로 여러 가지의 보상확보 메커니즘이 있다는 것을 암시하고 있다.
그러나 지금까지의 이러한 연구들은 국내 기업의 특성과 산업별 차이를 간과하고 있다는 점을 무시할 수 없기 때문에 국내 실정과 산업별 특성을 반영할 수 있는 기술혁신 보상확보 메커니즘의 효과성의 차이를 밝히고, 유형을 분류하고자 한다.
이러한 관점에서 본 연구는 다음 3가지 목적을 가지고 있다.
첫 번째는 국내 기업을 대상으로 기술혁신에 대한 보상확보 메커니즘을 전략적으로 분류하는 것이며, 두 번째는 산업별로 어떠한 기술혁신 보상확보 메커니즘이 유력한지와 그 이유에 대한 필요한 전략과 핵심적인 조건을 파악하는데 있다. 세 번째는 기술혁신에 대한 보상 메커니즘으로도 그 효과성에 있어 논란이 되어온 특허제도에 대해 국내 기업들이 특허를 출원하는 이유에 대해 파악을 하였다.
본 연구에서는 기업이 연구개발을 통한 결과물을 가지고 수익을 창출하는데 영향을 주는 요인들을 살펴보고 어떤 메커니즘이 기업의 혁신을 보호해 줄 수 있는 지를 살펴보았다. 연구결과 보상확보 메커니즘은 산업별로 차이를 보이는 것으로 나타났으며, 이러한 연구결과는 기업들이 효과적인 특허경영전략을 수립하는데 도움을 줄 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

In devising technological innovation strategies and implementing successful technological innovation, some of the most important factors may be to determine whether to protect technological innovation and to choose how to protect it.
Traditionally, technological innovation has been emphasized to obtain compensation as much as possible for innovation in terms of economics and strategy. However, it can be regarded as a very complicated problem to determine such a protection and its level.
