광주ㆍ전남 지역의 면화(綿花) 관련 민속문화의 양상과 현전화 방안 연구

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 광주 전남지역의 면화 관련 민속문화의 양상을 조사함으로써 한국인의 삶 전반에 영향을 미치고 있는 면화의 사회ㆍ문화적 측면을 밝히고 현대와 조우할 수 있는 방안을 모색하였다.
1차년도에는 각종 문헌에 수록된 광주 전남 지역 면화 관련 민속문화를 조사 정리하였다. 또한 면화 관련 구비자료의 문학적 접근을 통해 길쌈 및 베틀노래가 가진 양식상의 특징을 규명하고 민요 사설과 설화에 수용된 민중들의 의식을 살폈다. 관련된 연구논문으로 ｢베틀노래 전승의 통시적 고찰｣이 한국민요학 41집에 게재되었고, ｢문익점 목면 전래에 관한 문헌자료와 구비자료의 담론 양상과 의미｣가 남도민속연구 32집에 게재되었다.
2차년도에는 전남 도서 해안 지역을 대상으로 면화 관련 문화유산, 면화 관련 민속문화 행위, 면화 관련 기억을 담은 구술 등을 조사함으로써 전남 도서해안 지역 면화 민속의 양상과 문화적 독자성을 살폈다. 관련된 연구논문으로 ｢진도 지역 면화 관련 민속의 사회 문화적 맥락 고찰｣이 남도민속연구 30집에 수록되었다.
3차년도에는 광주 전남 내륙 지역을 대상으로 면화 관련 민속문화를 현대에 되살려 축제와 교육의 자료로 활용하고 있는 사례를 조사 연구함으로써 면화 민속의 현전화 방안을 모색하였다. 관련된 연구논문으로 ｢화순군 <내평리 길쌈놀이>의 공공문화 자원화 과정｣이 남도민속연구 34집에 수록되었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study identified the social and cultural aspects of cotton that affect the entire lives of Koreans and explored ways of meeting with today by investigating the aspect of folk culture on cotton in the Gwangju and Jeonnam.
In the first year, the research results were investigations and organizations of folk cultures relating to cotton in Gwangju and Jeonnam, which were included in various literature. Also by literary approach of oral materials relating to cotton, it confirmed features in the style of Gilssam and Loom songs and examined the consciousness of the people who were accepted into folk song editorials and folk tales. As a related study, the book “A diachronic study on loom song ” was published in the 41th volume of the of “Korean Folk Studies” and “Narrative aspect and meaning of bibliographic and oral materials about cotton import by Moon Ik-jeom ” was published in the 32th volume of the “Namdo Folk Studies”.
In the second year, it examined the appearance of folklore and cultural identity of cotton in the Island and coastal area in Jeonnam by investigating cultural heritages, performances of folklore and oral statements including memories relating to cotton.
