어학 계열 전공자의 학습 동기 분석을 통한 효과적인 전공 탐색 및 심화 방안 연구

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study aims to analyze the learning motivation of the students majoring in the foreign language department in the university and to establish an effective method of searching and deepening them. It is important to help establish effective learning strategies and methods for students who do not have the opportunity to meet like the culture of the English-speaking countries or the Chinese. This study focused on the students majoring in the foreign language department in the university. They are struggling to find a career path from language to society, culture and economy. In particular, the main targets are the learning motivation of learners majoring in Russian and Russian culture, the influence of cultural understanding on major learning, and factors influencing motivation, so the results will make it possible to establish effective learning strategy.
In this study, the questionnaires were conducted on 180 Russian majors and 55 Chinese majors in 4 universities in Seoul. Using the KEDI test tool developed by the Korea Educational Development Institute and cultural sensitivity test too, this study analyzed the learning motivation and cultural sensitivity of the language major.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 대학 내 어학 계열 전공자의 학습 동기를 분석하여 효과적인 전공 탐색 및 심화 방안을 세우는 데 그 목적이 있다. 영미권이나 중화권의 문화처럼 접할 기회가 흔치 않은 제2외국어 전공자들이 효과적인 학습 전략과 방법을 세울 수 있도록 도움이 되고자 했다. 본 연구의 대상은 단지 외국어 학습자가 아닌 대학에서 교양과 전공 지식을 탐구하는 어학 계열 전공자로 초점을 맞추고자 한다. 이들은 언어에서 사회, 문화, 경제까지 학습 내용이 광범위하여 진로 모색에 어려움을 겪고 있다. 대학 재학 기간 중 세부 전공을 탐색하고 졸업 후 전공에 맞는 진로를 선택하는 데 도움이 될 수 있는 방안을 마련하고자 했다. 특히 러시아어와 러시아 문화를 전공하는 학습자의 학습 동기를 분석하고, 문화 이해도가 전공 학습에 미치는 영향, 동기 부여에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 분석하여 이를 효과적인 학습 전략 수립에 활용할 수 있도록 했다.
본 연구에서는 서울 지역 4개 대학에서 러시아어 전공자 180명과 중국어 전공자 55명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 한국교육개발원이 개발한 KEDI 종합검사도구와 문화감수성 검사도구를 활용하였고 그 조사 결과 어학 계열 전공자의 학습동기 및 문화감수성을 파악할 수 있었다.
러시아와 중국 모두 인접국가이지만 사회·문화적으로 이해도를 더욱 높일 필요가 있으며 대학 전공자들의 학문적 탐구에 도움이 될 수 있는 교수-학습 프로그램이 개발될 필요가 있음을 밝혔다. 낯선 나라의 언어와 문화를 선택한 학습자들은 동기 부여가 저조하기 때문에 이들의 학습 능력 향상을 도모하기 위한 구체적인 방안이 필요하다.
