한국의 종교와 사회진보(Human Progress)에 대한 학제간 연구

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 주제는 20세기 중반 이후 성공적 근대화를 이룩한 한국사회의 발전 동인에 대한 거시적 쟁점들 중 사회경제적 및 학문적 함의가 큰 ‘종교와 사회진보’(Religion and Human Progress)의 상호관계를 주요 키워드로 한다. 특히 기존의 종교 연구에서 이루어지는 근대화 이론, 발전사회론, 세속화이론에서 벗어나, 종교적 가치를 포함하는 문화 가치 체계의 요인에 주목하고 한 사회의 진보가 문화-종교의 차원과 어떻게 연관되어 있는지 조명하고자 한다. 따라서 본 연구팀은 1990년대 이후 '영성'에 대한 연구, 건강한 삶의 질에 대한 신앙요인의 연구를 확장시켜 이론적이고 경험적인 토대의 연구로 발전시켰다. 또한 한국 사회한국 사회에 관한 한 1960년대 이후의 산업화와 경제발전 등 ‘압축적’ 근대화가 현 한국 사회에 초래한 문제 곧, 경제적 변화와 도덕적 가치 간의 ‘긴장’의 현상에 주목하였다.
종합하자면 총 46건의 연구 논문과 저서를 국내외에 출판하였다. 또한 관련 학계 세미나와 심포지엄 및 기타 네트워킹 활동을 60회 실시하였다. 대중으로의 확산을 위해 9건의 성과확산을 실시하였고, 대학원생들의 연구 활동을 촉진하여 신진연구인력을 양성하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The topic of this project focused on the relationship between religion and human Progress which have huge implication of socio-economic or academic topic on south Korean society. Especially, it tries to overcome the previous studies suggested in sociology of religion such as ‘modernization theory’, ‘development theory’, and ‘secularization theory’. And we pay much attention to various elements of culture-value system including religious value and consciousness. Also, we conducted a social survey on how social progress is related to the cultural-religious dimension. Therefore, our research team attempted to develop some qualitative & quantitative theories and social theses on the sociology of spirituality sicne the 1990s, and to fine religious factors involved in life quality.
