경남 서부지역 고문헌 자료 조사, 정리

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구물은 2003년 12월부터 2006년 11월 말까지 진행된 ‘경남 서부지역 고문헌자료 조사·정리’라는 연구과제 3개년 사업의 결과로서 만들어졌다. 본 자료 조사는 기존의 조사관행을 탈피하고 각 마을을 돌아다니며 자료를 조사하는 저인망식 자료조사 방식을 취하였다. 이렇게 하여 3년동안 조사된 문헌자료는 상당히 방대하다. 파악된 문집·실기류만 해도 3,282종이고 이외의 성책류들도 상당히 많았다. 그중 중요하다고 생각되는 자료들은 디지털로 촬영하였는데, 이것만 해도 3,508종에 이른다. 조사된 고문서의 전체 양도 43,101건에 이른다.
이번 사업의 결과물은 모두 4책으로 내기로 하였다. 이중 제1책에서 제3책까지는 6명의 연구자들이 각 시기마다 자료 종류별로 분석한 글과 팀별로 조사된 문헌목록을 수록하는 것으로 하였다. 문헌목록에는 고문서와 관련된 것은 싣지 않고 성책류만 대상으로 하여 수록하였다. 다만 제1책 ‘서론’ 말미에 고문서의 종류별로, 소장처별로 그 양이 얼마나 되는가를 표로 제시해 두었다. 그리고 중요한 문서는 각 종류별로 자료를 해제한 글에서 제시하였다.
제4책은 영인본 자료집에 해당된다. 여기에서는 자료 해제의 글에 소개된 자료 중에서도 종류별로 몇 가지 중요한 자료를 뽑아 소개하는 형태를 취하고 있다. 조사된 문헌자료가 방대하여 모두 자료집에 실을 수 없기 때문이다. 그래서 대신 학술진흥재단에는 외장형 하드디스크에 3년 동안 조사된 모든 자료를 담아 제출할 예정이다.
조사된 고문서중에는 이 지역의 역사·문화 연구뿐만 아니라 우리 민족사 연구 차원에서 아직 체계적으로 정리하지 못했던 향촌사회나 생활사 부분에 대해 여러 가지 구체적 모습을 시사해 줄 수 있는 자료들이 많았다. 조사된 자료중에는 문화재로 지정되어야 할 문헌들도 적지 않았고, 남명학파의 활동과 관련하여 새로운 연구를 촉진시켜줄 문헌도 여러 종 조사되었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This work resulted from the accomplishment of the project during three years(from December 2003 to November 2006), 'the research and arrangement of the ancient records in the western area of Kyongnam.' The research escaped from the previous methods investigating only several important houses that possessed many records, but used the dragneting methods roaming about every countryside and investigating the records.
The quantity of the ancient records investigated in this way during three years is greatly massive. The surveyed anthologys and authentic records amount to 3,282 cases, and the books of the other sorts are greatly massive. The records which were supposed to be important among them were digitized, and these records amount to 3508 cases. The total quantity of the ancient documents amounts to 43,101 pieces too.
The products of this survey are expected to be made into the books in four volumes. In the first, second and third volume of them the articles where six participants in this survey analyzed the records that were divided between them and the lists of the records according to every possessor every year were carryed. In the lists of the records the ancient documents were not included and only the sort of books were included. But in the end of 'introduction' in the first volume the lists of the quantity of various sorts of the documents according to every possessor will be suggested. On the other hand the important documents are suggested in the articles which every participant analized.
The fourth volume corresponds to the photoprinting book of the records. It assumes the form introducing the very important records among those that were introduced in every articles. Because the quantity of the surveyed records is greatly massive and all the records cannot be carried in the book. While the USB hard disk filled with all the records which were surveyed for three years will be presented to Korea Research Foudation.
Among the surveyed records those which show various concrete figures of not only the history and the culture in this area but also the history of the communities and the life history that had not yet been explained systematically for the national history are numerous. Among the surveyed records those which ought to be assigned for the cultural properties and the literatures that may promote the new research about the Nammyong school history are considerable.
