Nowadays, there are many creative cities in Europe. Duisburg, Malmø, Verona, Graz and so on. Especially, Duisburg is famous for the Landschaftspark Duisburg-Nord as environmental park, Malmö city is famous for ‘Tears of Malmø’. Between 1990 and 1995 Malmø lost about 27,000 jobs and its economy was seriously strained. However, from 1994 the city of Malmö started to create a new economy as a centre of culture and knowledge. Verona city is famous for ‘Romeo & Juliet’ and ‘Opera City’. Graz is famous for ‘The city of Harmony’. Mur Island is in the form of a giant sea shell and measures 47m in length. Two footbridges connect it with both banks of the Mur for the cohesion of the local residents.
The case studies of European creative cities present good examples of how to succeed in creative city.
