This study aims to analyse the present political, economic and sociocultural situation in Francophone Sub-Saharan Africa, and also aims to review the prospects of development in this region. To achieve this research goal, To achieve this research goal, our study was carried out using an interdisciplinary approach (Politics, Economy, Literature, Linguistics).
Our research team has published the following 12 articles:
1.「An Analysis of Attitudes of Francophone-African citizens regarding Democracy, Economic Recovery and Development -Focusing on a survey of pan-Francophone African public opinion-」: This study presents the results of a pan-Francophone African opinion survey carried out by our research team. This survey identifies the attitudes of French-speaking African countries citizens regarding Democracy, Economic recovery and Development. 2.「Durable Development and Language Policy: Sub-Saharan Francophone Countries」: This paper examines the language policy of sub-saharan francophone countries and identifies that language choice and use in Africa is an important variable in the durable development of Africa. 3.「Francophone Western Africa : between Balkanization and Globalization」: This paper examines political and economic situations in Francophone Western African countries and analyses how these countries overcome the neo-liberal threatening tides of globalization. 4.「A Study on the Possibility of the Vitalization for Regional Economic Integration in Africa - Focusing on the Francophone UEMOA」: This study analyses obstacles to the developments of Regional Economic Communities in Africa, and also examines the possibility of the vitalization for UEMOA, as a case study. 5.「The modern Senegal social issues in the novel 'So Long a Letter' of Mariama Bâ」: This study analyses Mariama Bâ's novel, 'So Long a Letter', and focuses primarily on the modern Senegal social issues which are found in this novel. 6.「Post-neocolonialism: Reflections on Changing Political Dynamics in Francophone Central Africa of the New Millennium」: This paper examines the political trajectory of french-speaking central Africa since the 1990s, and suggests that the practices, routines and mentalities of new local regimes merits a new label of 'post-neocolonial'. 7.「Mineral Resources and the Prospect of Economic Development in the Democratic Republic of Congo」: This article analyses the predicted role of mining for the DRC's future economic growth. 8.「The Image of Africa in Literature -Western and African Perspectives on the Congo River-」: This study analyses various literary works of both western and local origins dealing with the Congo River, and identifies the image of Africa in Literature. 9.「National Development and Language Problem in Africa: The Case of the Democratic Republic of Congo」: This study examines the language problems of the DRC, and suggests several solutions for national development. 10.「African Perspective on Social Integration: Comparative Analysis of Multi-ethnic Societies in Madagascar and Mauritius」: This paper examines the multi-ethnic societies of Madagascar and Mauritius in the Francophone Indian Ocean region and suggests a path to social integration in Africa, establishing an appropriate model. 11.「The Malagasy identity in the poems of Rabearivelo」: This study reviews the cultural histories of Madagascar and Malagasy literature, and analyses the Malagasy identity in the poems of Jean-Joseph Rabearivelo. 12.「Language Policy in Madagascar and a Linguistic Argumentation for Promotion of the Malagasy」: This paper analyses the language policy in Madagascar, and reviews a linguistic argumentation for Promotion of the Malagasy.
This study will be useful for future research on French-speaking Africa in Korea and for Korea's policy toward Africa.
