Our long and brilliant history and tradition to produce such excellent potteries as Koryojagi made in Koryo dynasty have been fading away.
In Korea, we have much production of good kaolinite and other raw materials for ceramic industry, but just because of want of basic data on raw materials and insufficient systematic study on ceramic coloration, their quality of production is still poor.
Therefore, in this fundamental study, raw materials for ceramics have been observed in their organization through an electric microscope and the ingredients of the 24 raw materials have been analyzed.
Coloration of ceramics has been systematically studied by painting with glaze mixed with various oxidized metals and powder of mineral stone.
