This study is analytic research into family changes during the latest 15 years in Busan Metropolitan City from the perspective of family diversification. The study analyzed the type of family which was diversified from family diversification in the context of family structure, family members, lifestyle, and family value, and analyzed each of change details. The classified families from each aspect involve the following. That is, in
terms of a family structure, there were single parent families, single mother families, elderly families, and childlessness families, and in light of family members, there were remarried families, adopted families,
international marriage families. In terms of lifestyle, there were doubleincome families, commuter couple families, and 'Kirogi' families. Finally, in light of family value, there were unmarried single families,cohabitation
families, homosexual union families, and community families. As a result of the research, the implications in such changes shown in families in Busan along with rapid social changes during the latest 15 years include the flexibility in family make-up, the emergence of a gender perspective, an outstanding family isorganization phenomenon, the distinction of modern family value (post-modernization phenomenon), and the appearance of the concept of alternative families. This study is expected to contribute to the projection of the forthcoming changes of families in Busan and to the policy development for families who experience
difficulty in adaptation during the changes.
